  1. How does prolonged use of HGH effect a persons body? Does it have alot of negative effects? Ive heard alot about steroids and what they do to people and all the negative effects that they have, but not a whole lot about HGH. I know the possitives of the drug but have heard very little about its neagtive effects. Can anyone shed some light on that for me?
  2. Seems like once Hendry has decided he needs to trade a guy, he will do so even if he just gets dung in return. I just have this horrible feeling that he's going to trade JJ for some piece of Nefi-like crap. I really hope not but I just get that dreadful feeling.
  3. Whatever man, its been checked and rechecked its pretty much a known fact that you are going to lose signal during a storm in FL. It happens to almost everyone I know that has a dish down here. Dishnetwork or DirectTv will tell you the same thing if you complain about it. Its just part of having satelite tv. maybe the cloud cover is not as thick where you live, or you dont have as many trees around you or something. Satelite is finiky.
  4. Not true at all. I have great signal strength but if there is a storm you can be sure your going to lose your service for the duration. I had high 90's on clear days back when I had my problems. It's not just picking up a great signal on clear days that means properly adjusted. Since having it installed properly, I have great signal strength on the clear days, but also maintain it during storms. I bet it's just not set-up well. Was it securely bolted into a stable surface without obstructions by a professional? Yes
  5. Id love to hear who the 8 people who didnt vote for him were and why, but we are never likely to get that info.

  7. I have a Myfi, I use it in the car then when I get home I take it out of the cradle and bring it in and sit it a cradle that I have hooked up to my computer's sound card. It was pretty easy to set up like that. I do miss seeing pitches though, its not the same hearing it on the radio.
  8. Fair enough. But, I get EI for all MLB games, not just the Cubs. With Fantasy baseball as popular as ever, MLB should be capitalizing on the opportunity for EI to be seen regardless of what cable provider subscribers have. If they are stupid enough to sign an exclusivity contract with one provider, then I might have to agree with you and not feel sorry for them or myself. I think I'd probably wind up listening to more games on my XM radio. I wonder if they get rid of blackouts if I could watch the games on comcast sportsnet chicago, I pay extra for that channel but they blackout all the Cubs games so its usually only good for watching the pre and post game shows and Tribune live is occasionaly entertaining. Dan Plesac is a tool though. *sigh* If I could watch all the games on WGN and the games carried on comcast sportsnet I think Id be pretty happy and not be worried about losing the EI package.
  9. I just happen to appreciate a company that actually has to work to satisfy its customers. The cable companies have devolved into a world of warped business practices thanks to years of government-sponsored monopoly. "Effectively taken away?" What's stopping you from signing up for satellite? Here in Florida we have DirectTV, Dish Network, Bright House (Time Warner) Digitial Cable, and Verizon Digital Cable. With all that competition I don't see how any one of these companies has to work any harder than another to satisfy it's customers, but if it makes you feel better to think you are sticking it the man by not having cable then more power to you. Personally I have Verizon digital cable because I like to actually be able watch TV when it is raining outside, but that's just me. In any case, I don't know how good of a business move it would be for DirectTV to throw a lot of money at getting exclusivity on EI. http://www.multichannel.com/article/CA6404687.html Only 280,000 total subscribers and I have to think a pretty large percentage of those are not dedicated enough to actually switch providers to get the package. This is one of the largest drawbacks to having satelite tv in FL, there are plenty of times I miss an hour or more tv time because of rain. Satelite really sucks and if I had a choice Id have cable, not only for tv but for internet and phone service to. We have been trying to get cable services for the 2 years we have been living on this road. They keep telling us they wont wire us because there arent enough houses on our road but 1 mile away is the cable hub and every other road around us has cable services. The main reason we want it is for the highspeed internet but I would really love to be able to get brighthouse cable as well. We are actually on the verge of taking them to court. We think that the communications act of 2006 obligates them to give us fair access, because of the lack of other high speed options. Satelite high speed internet is a real joke because of the dialup like upload speeds and the limits on how much you can download. I think most people these days that have highspeed internet have broadband and until satelite comes up with something compareable people will want cable over satelite. I dream of the day when I come home from work and the brighthouse guys are stringing up the lines for cable service honestly, being without highspeed internet is real hell lol. Ive been happy with my TV service with Dishnetowrk though, Id probably switch to cable just to have everything on one bill, and because it would save me a little money. I think forcing people to subscribe to DirectTV (and sign a lengthy contract with them) in order to be able to watch the EI package would be a HUGE mistake on MLB's part. [/b]
  10. Losing the extra innings package on Dishnetwork would really really piss me off. There's no way Id switch to DirectTV, they dont even have WGN on DirectTV do they? Anyway I have heard nothing but bad things about them and Ive been real happy with my DVR/Service with Dishnetwork.
  11. thanks craig that was an excelent breakdown
  12. Every game he's been in, he's started. Why only 3 IP? I'm sure the Cubs have him on a pitch count. I wonder how the strike zone down there differs from our typical MLB strike zone. Is it a larger zone? The most encouraging stat for Angel is that K/BB ratio, thats amazing. If he has his control back, look out.
  13. Everything I heard from Cubs brass is that this reported deal never happened....at least not the $7 million part....for what its worth... I for one hope it did, if not I dont see why he wouldn't choose the NFL since he stands to make more money sooner and his baseball possibilities would be much more iffy.
  14. **rolls eyes** yup no one was saying things like that in 1998, they were to busy sayding "DAMN that kid is good". In my mind that 20K game was the single greatest dominating pitching performance ever. If it wasn't for Kevin Orie's ineptness, this would have been a perfect game/no hitter. The simple fact is that the mechanics, bad or not are what made Kerry the dominating pitcher he was. Most people will remember 1998 for the homerun chase, I'll always remember it for Kerry Wood. That game is burnt into my memory more than any other single baseball event in the history of the game. Its the kind of game I waited a lifetime to see and will probably never see again. I saw it as it happened, live in my living room. You want to crucify Kerry Wood for his poor mechanics? Go ahead I guess if it makes you feel better, but just about every time I watch a baseball game I hope for something like that game to happen, and I thank God for that day in May of 1998 when I saw pitching perfection. No matter what happens to Kerry Wood for the rest of his career, he's given me a gift that no other Cubs pitcher can ever touch. why did you quote what i said? it has nothing to do with what you wrote. *shrug* guess I misundertood what you were saying. I thought you were saying its easy to predict an arm injury after they have already occured. To which I had said yeah, no one was predicting him to have a bunch of injurues at the time. Oh well sorry I guess. post still fit in with the general theme of the conversation.
  15. He did an interview on XM talking about the signing saying that the GM and manager called him trying to convince him to come back and that the major factor in his deciding to come back was that they told him he'd get a large amount of playing time. LOL they never said anything about it beng a minor league deal with an invite to spring training.

  17. Baseball has guaranteed contracts, but to get the big money you have to make it through the minor leagues with those long bus rides and staying in less than luxurious hotels. With baseball, if he makes it, he'll probably make more money in the long run without as much wear and tear on his body. On the other hand, he's closer to the "big time" by choosing football. His 7 million or whatever it is from us is guarunteed though isnt it? Your right on his being closer to the big time playing football.
  18. Seems like most people are predicting Samardzija as a 2nd round pick in the NFL now. Would the money for a 2nd round pick be pretty far under what we have already offered him to concentrate on baseball. Seems like a no brainer as far as the money angle is concerned. NFL contracts are not garunteed are they? I really hope he decides to play baseball, but he hasnt given any clues as to which sport he wants to play. Is he waiting until after the NFL draft to make a desicion? You would think his being in limbo might scare alot of NFL teams off especially with the amount of money he has waiting for him from us. Id love to hear more people's thoughts on this. I dont follow the NFL or College football with anywhere near the amount of detail and zeal as I do baseball, so its hard for me to see what the pros and cons would be as to choosing a football career over a baseball one.
  19. That sounds low Vance its more like 150,000 to 1 lol at least
  20. If Cotts wins the World Series MVP I will something really outrageous like eating my left shoe or something.... World Series MVP *laughs* ....*sigh* man thats funny...
  21. Ah nevermind I found it. It was a good read. He seems to think its not so far fetched an idea to play Pie in CF next year. He projects Pie as a Vernon Wells skill set type.
  22. Id like a link to the article, I am a member but cant seem to find the article. Ive been fairly disapointed with my membership for the past year, it would be nice to read something interesting there for a change.
  23. As would I, but if last year wasn't a fluke for DeRosa then he will be very similar to Giles if my memory serves me correctly. The problem is, you know what you're getting from Giles, but I'm not positive DeRosa will repeat (though I'm fairly confident). Don't get me wrong, I like Giles, but IMO you can no longer claim "you know what you're getting" from him. His production's kinda been all over the map: he's gone from unremarkable (01 and 02) to fantastic (2003) to solid (04 and 05) to disappointing (2006). I have a lot of doubts about what any team is going to get out of Giles in 2007. The reason I wanted him so badly at this point is that I'm pretty confident about what we're going to get from DeRosa. I dont feel any more confident that Giles will return to earlier numbers in his career than that DeRosa will. I have more confidence that DeRosa will continue what he started last year, than that Giles will somehow become the player he was 2 years ago. Either one is a risk, I take DeRosa over Giles. We'll see how it plays out though.
