have you watched the cubs at all this year? jesus Yeah, I know what our inconsistent offense can do. The only reason we were able to do anything last night is because we finally got to thier bulpen. We have been completely shut down by much worse pitchers than Blanton. We'll also be lucky if we get 5 innings out of Harden today. looooool I can't imagine any knowledgeable baseball fan say that with a straight face. (The bolded part)

It's actually more sad than funny these days. seriosuly, its a sad way to put Yankee Stadium to rest. There on what, an 8 year title drought? I dont know how there fans can stand it. 27 championships. I'd be fine if they went 100 years without another one. I think every other baseball fan in america would agree with me

I always thought I'd be happy and relieved when the Cardinals inevitably fell out of the race, but they went so quietly and slowly over the course of a few months that it wasn't really noticeable. It would have been far more pleasurable to see them lose 15 in a row or something, but whatever.

The way the Dodgers have completely blown it in the last week or so, I think its pretty clear we're going to see the D-backs in the divisional round. ](*,) Oh well, gotta beat your nemesis in order to win the World Series don't you?

Aww, really? No more Pirates? Dangit. I love it when my team has it's own personal whipping boys. The Cubs have the Pirates, the Packers had the Bears.... I would say the Bears have the Packers as their whipping boys the last 3-4 years... :wink: Honestly in the Lovie Era they are what? 6-2 against them?

I gotta say I've never been a fan of the "Reed Johnson batting 5th" thing, but given the circumstances he's probably the best one suited for it today. (Other than DeRosa of course)

I never understood all the hubbub and anticipation about the guy. He has the injury problems of Kerry Wood and Mark Prior but one good season at what, age 28 or 29?
