    longer. the best team in the NL doesn't suddenly forget how to play baseball 140 games into the season. Seriously if you are jumping ship after 6 games you haven't been following baseball enough

    I think Aram not having hit the ball since his GS against the Phillies has played a large part in this scoreless streak. Its weird how streaky he got. At the beginning of the season he was the model of consistency, and then he had his 0-20 whatever streak and now he's been hot and cold Mostly cold though

    "Making" the playoffs is not the ultimate goal. My concern is not about making the playoffs, because we will. My concern is with how crappy they're playing in getting there the last 3 weeks. This is pitiful. At this rate, we're going to get swept out of the playoffs just like last year, after this great season. there is no 'this rate' because it is impossible they will play this bad getting into the playoffs I mean yeah if they are on a 0-30 run going into october I'm with you but that will never happen. How about if they're 8-22 or so heading into the playoffs? Would we have cause for concern? We'll have to wait and see if that occurs, wont we? Patience, my friends. In all things.

    I miss CubsGm. Maybe he would have had some perspective. I just want you all to know that I'm probably just as pissed as you guys are, but I'm looking at the big picture here. Zambrano and Harden, by all indications, will be fine by playoff time, our hitting absolutely cannot continue to be worse (remember how bad they were after the all star break?) and we are almost certainly going to have homefield advantage. Its like bitching and moaning about losing a preseason game.

    I can't say I'll be all that thrilled if we "win" the Wild Card. 5 game losing streak and we 'gained' a half game in the division

    Hahahah I've never seen someone demand depression and nihilism like this I've never seen people have such a strong desire to stifle any sort of negative thought. Why should we celebrate and encourage negativity? Especially since its kneejerk and not based in reality?

    They pretty much happen to every team every year even championship teams We haven't lost more than what, 4 in a row until this streak? Absolutely we were due

    Bold statement: The 2008 Cubs are a better team overall than the 2005 White Sox. I'd take their flukey amazing bullpen over ours in an instant of course, but their rotation isn't that much better and our offense is waaaaay better.

    I normally don't agree with hyperbole, but there is no amount of exaggeration needed to talk about how bad Bob Howry is. If I wasn't in Champaign, IL I'd honestly be trying to find his place of residence and beg him to stop pitching, fake an injury, anything . If that doesn't work well...as others have said, trust the crowbar If he makes it onto the playoff roster (please don't) and if he blows a playoff game (he will if given the opportunity) I'll never forgive Lou.
