  1. of our pitchers, i have to say marquis looks teh worst at the plate, even though he's supposed to be the 'best' one
  2. reed johnson looks awful awful awful
  3. i'm wearing my aramis jersey for good luck today yeah not working too well
  4. lol this is asking for trouble lately we haven't gotten away with any mistakes so, here comes the grand slam
  5. I'm actually amazed I didn't think it was possible Joey Votto has 18 home runs on the season of them eight are against the Cubs
  6. I remember when games seemed winnable every time why do we struggle to get baserunners now
  7. any centerfielder is trouble...when was the last time Edmonds hit the ball out of the infield?
  8. They've played 2 teams that were absurdly overranked, but they are very good and also looked pretty impressive in their bowl game last year the main point is the ACC and Big east are awful
  9. San Diego State Upset city is pretty much down Oh well, at least I'll get to see the Michigan-ND triple over time 0-0 tie next week
  10. If any conference should be kicked out of the BCS, it should be the ACC with the Big 10 second. ACC is looking awful but the Big 10 does beat out the Big East, fairly easily I dont want to get into that discussion though, but it should be obvious And Wake wins! Barely gets by a bottom feeder in teh SEC, HOORAY
  11. Attention AP Pollsters: Do not rank West Virginia in the top ten. Don't do it. Stop doing it. They never deserve it. In fact consider kicking the Big East out of the BCS. This is embarrassing for everyone watching.
  12. God bless how bad Notre Dame is. Just barely tying San Diego State at the end of the half. If SDSU had a single competent quarterback this would be a blowout. Michigan-ND is going to be epic. I knew UM would blow them out last year, but who the hell knows whats going to happen this year.
  13. The Bears descent into complete suckitude from their huge 2006 Super Bowl year has made me care less about football than anything else Even if they were to pull off an incredibly improbable win here, they wont possibly move toward a playoff spot. This team is atrocious. The offense is worse than a few college football offenses I could name. Defense is getting old and Urlacher is a ticking time bomb. There is almost no future with this roster. The front office has no idea how to assemble talent on the offensive side. Me and Soul used to follow this team together in the old Bears official forums, good times. I have no enthusiasm for this team. Maybe they could pull off a 2005-like season, but it wouldn't matter. Go Cubs. Go Illini?
  14. I've read this post like 7 times and I think you and I have just misunderstood each other. When I said its going to catch up to them I didn't mean this year. I meant the whole philosophy: getting a lot of hackers that don't walk doesn't bode well for you, especially when you can't afford to keep the more talented ones once they reach free agency.
  15. because they've scored every other time those guys have come up this game Its still the heart of their lineup and a powerful one. Just because they havnt gotten the job done yet this evening doesnt mean they wont. I don't think it's as powerful as you think it is. They have power in the SLG sense, but I'm a bit surprised the OPS numbers for the middle of the Brewers order arent higher than they are. THEY DON'T WALK Seriously, sooner rather than later this will catch up to them. You can only skate by on physical talent for a certain period of time. I can't wait until Ryan Braun starts to age and puts up 5 years of .290 OBPs in a row unfortunately thats not for another 10 years Catch up to them how? It's not like they are one of the top scoring offenses or something. 5th in the NL in runs? Yeah they do ok, they certainly are better than the 2007 Cubs. Also even if they aren't elite it doesn't mean the bottom can't fall out and they just turn completely awful

  17. ahhaha pads might get out of this jesus there is so much failure in the national league it takes me back to 2005
  18. Walking the unwalkable Ryan Braun should have been enough to just lose the game right on the spot Another reason why I hate the Brewers- they have a terrible approach at the plate, yet they all can mash homers so they mak eup for it
  19. On the bright side the Dodgers have a decent lead and are going to make things interesting (again) in the West. Of course they'll sweep the Dbacks and then go on an 8 game losing streak or something
  20. I'm not a big fan of putting morality into sports, I just like seeing my team win and/or my rivals lose
  21. Good lord this team has absolutely no chance to win this game I guess the best they can hope for is to deplete the Brewers bullpen a little
  22. stop making outs you idiots god damnit they are going to cub their way out of it
  23. 2 on no out Will the Pads cub there way out of this? Check the NSBB boards and find out!
  24. Padres trying as hard as humanly possible to lose this game
  25. I gotta say with the way the NL is playing theres a chance we could make the playoffs without winning another game
