  1. Lame, that was a pretty good at bat for a while
  2. I'd love to chip away at this lead because we all know we're getting 3-4 innings of the Mets bullpen of course everytime we salivate at the thought of facing a weak bullpen they retire us in order to end the game
  3. You can't be serious. Argh I'm so upset with the lack of offense in a meaningless game and some starters missing
  4. I don't really want to wish injuries on somebody, but I sort of hope he rushed his recovery and then hurts his chances for coming back next year He's teh one guy that'll make the loss of Sheets and Sabathia feel better
  5. Being a Brewers fan is probably just slightly worse than being a fan of the Cubs
  6. Meh, good teams win like that occasionally. bad teams do as well?! I'm just saying sure they put up 6 runs but it just as easily could have been a shut out
  7. I found it funny that with all their supposed firepower the Mets could only score from freaky bloops/single/bunt/errors and weak lame ground balls that our infielders couldn't get too. Awesome, lets keep seeing that weak contact for the rest of the season and postseason.
  8. blah things were going so well for marshall stupid freak play
  9. It was bad, but I wouldn't call it horrible. We'll see worse this game, I'm sure. gameday sure looks like a strike
  10. How did Santana hit a single, I hear some funny hinjinx occurred
  11. Him and Derrek Lee are comparable in value Pujols is in a different stratosphere
  12. I wonder what his ERA is if you take out the 8 run and 9 run disasters he's had
  13. I trust our pitcher to shut down a team's offense more than I trust our offense to tee off on really good pitching. Am I alone in this theory? I'm 100% with you, I'd rather face a weaker offense than weaker pitching, because the way good teams vs. good teams usually go, its not typically very high scoring affairs I can honestly see our hitting clogged down to 3-4-5 runs a game, and I just would love to stifle the opposing bats, and not worry about having to get too many runs. What I'm saying is bring on the Dodgers. The whole team is hackers without a lot of power with the very notable exception of Manny. But we do a good job with Pujols most of the time, and I think we can do a decent job with Manny, probably with a lot of intentional unintentional walks.
  14. Its mostly embarrassing that our organization for the past 100 years couldn't put together a winning team twice in a row The World Series is one thing, mostly a crapshoot, look at how many titles the Braves took down during their run...but to not put together two playoff teams in a row with the market share we have?
  15. Which is exactly what happened, good job Tony La Russa!
  16. It seems oddly soon for Zambrano to be starting another game. The No-No seems like it was just 2 days ago. Regardless, this has been one of the best weeks to be a Cubs fan possibly in a whole century.
  17. He's just going through his own struggles but he was due for coming back to earth a little bit. I'm completely confident in his ability to be a good reliever in this league but it seems he's lost his control a bit. I really don't feel like opposing hitters have figured him out, he's just beating himself.
  18. I hope they get video of the Lee play because I missed it. If it wasn't for DeRosa's defense this game wouldn't have even made it to the 12th inning, oh well. At least it gave us a great uplifting victory and the Brewers a titanic loss.
  19. Would you buy a World Series champion shirt if that is the case?
  20. The inconsistency is certainly puzzling. The only person who would say something like that hasn't watched enough baseball its baseball you get shut out by bad pitchers and you crush good ones it happens
  21. i hope they go down in order for the rest of the game so i can see some bitching about the offense
  22. Its gonna be one of those 0-5 nights for Soriano He's pissed because he didn't get 2 hard hit balls to drop and now he'll just swing at everything
  23. Remember how Lou handled Dempster last night? Marquis is coming out for the 7th if Lou had complete control
