  1. Who says we're not upset? Plus, it's not like it's David Eckstein who is hitting the HRs. No one said anything in the thread when it happened The fact that it is someone that we should be avoiding is the reason for concern, just dont challenge the one person in their lineup that can hit homers
  2. i'm surprised no one else is upset that we gave up homers to adrian gonzalez in the first inning in back to back games though i guess the wind is blowing horribly out so? No big deal?
  3. Especially considering his roller coaster ride to get here the past few weeks. First hes flown to Chicago to learn that hes going back. Then He gets up and does OK for himself. Then in comes Freel, and its apparently the end of the line for him. Then down goes Ramirez and he stays some more. Seriosuly between Scales and Freel, they need to shop Miles. Why bother shopping him? We ate Vizcaino's contract, just DFA him and if no one takes eat his contract too
  4. I don't want to be 'that' guy but those 2 runs might be all he needs
  5. God it would be beautiful if the Lakers lost to either Houston or Utah Please let this happen
  6. amused that such a good pitching match up (despite Peavy's struggles this year) is relegated to CSN+ welp, wont be able to watch it then!
  7. This Boyer guy isn't hard to figure out, he doesn't throw strikes, so act accordingly
  8. If Jerry Hairston wasn't so concerned with bunting he probably would have walked and they would have had bases loaded no out God I hate Dusty
  9. The Gaudin release is even more puzzling since he's been throwing exceptionally well as a starter the last few weeks
  10. If Bannister, Davies and Meche keep giving them good innings and they go to anyone else in their bullpen other than Farnsworth they'll have a good year defensively/pitchingwise The hitting is still atrocious, however. Regardless, they could compete in the AL Central
  11. I don't see why Scales never got a shot in the bigs, by age 25 he was putting up great numbers in AAA I guess he must have been blocked by someone in San Diego? I dunno, dude seems like we never should have signed Aaron Miles. I have much more confidence in this career minor leaguer than him
  12. I really really despise the Cardinals and it makes perfect sense that they are doing this to me right now I just wish we could give them back Aaron Miles
  13. Thanks Lou, this insult to injury here is that Marmol gave my fantasy team a 108 ERA and a 12 WHIP to completely destroy my pitching this week AWESOME
  14. cubs should trade him before he has that slump and everyone realizes he's worthless. This would actually happen if NSBB ran major league teams every week would be a new trade involving players in the midst of a slump. Texeira would already be on a new team, Matt Holliday would be out of the majors or something
  15. 5/44 with one extra base hit and an OPS of .414. I think that warrants a bit of anger. Soto is definitely not 'done' or worthless Now, Lee on the other hand...
  16. Looooooool our second hit leads to a double play while our pinch hitting pitcher is on deck good god
  17. our bench is so bad Z being the first pinch hitter is a realistic probability
  18. Its a beautiful melting pot of patient and punchless, the powerful and impatient, and the punchless and impatient
  19. Yeah I can only quote this in agreement. Its a shame I sort of missed the glory years. I remember watching "the shot" in real time though, that was awesome. :) At least the Bulls are giving us one helluva entertaining series, the last game was one of the best basketball games I've ever watched.
  20. Really shouldn't be that surprised that our offense will look like this much trash without Lee, Ramirez and (mostly) Bradley Still, it feels like crap.
  21. I have some distaste for players that bounce around the league as much as Sheffield has. He's pretty much played on half the entire MLB franchises. Doesn't diminish his abilities or his accomplishments, but theres a 'mercenary' quality to it, that I know, all MLB players don't really have much loyalty to any one team (and shouldn't, since teams do their best to exploit players), but I still like seeing the occasional Chipper (Or even Zambrano!) who spends his entire career on one team. Unfortunately, Milton Bradley is practically in the 'mercenary' category as well.
  22. The Yankees might have a new Coors field on their hands.
  23. I've had Theriot on my team all season but have kept him on my bench in a superstition that it'll keep his red-hot start alive as long as possible I'm starting him soon though, just out of necessity. Beware.
