  1. the only thing that can make me feel better would be for the Cavs to lose
  2. that was an epic fake rally you almost have to marvel at the beauty of it i...admire its simplicity
  3. dont screw this up at least tie it, you jerks
  4. Very very odd move by Torre lets make him pay for it
  5. I'll be the bigger man here and admit I must be wrong But damn does it seem like it, the eyes and our brains can deceive us
  6. but...but...my anecdotal evidence!
  7. I've always had a hunch that a majority of his walks are taken when there aren't RISP's. He doesn't seem to mind working the count and taking a walk in those situations, but when there are RBI opportunities, he gets super aggressive and swings at horrible pitches. He will still sometimes take pitches, but only to get ahead in the count in order to increase the probability of him getting a hittable pitch. If he gets a 2-0 count, he'll just start flaling away at anything to avoid walking. I hate to buy into conventional 'baseball' knowledge about how certain players are better in the 'clutch' but it applies so strongly to Soriano. The man literally will hack away if theres a runner on base, leading off he isn't so terrible, he'll take a pitch or two, but he's absolutely brutal if theres anyone close to scoring.
  8. I'm in disbelief literally, the only thought going through my head as teh cubs got 2 on and no out was "Soriano K, Theriot GIDP" and thats exactly what happened
  9. Soriano is so bad with runners on base he just swings at everything
  10. see, Bobby Scales still has value
  11. i gotta say, I don't feel that bad about this loss i think the Cubs have finally numbed me. I'm positive Randy Wells will never win a game in a Cubs uniform. Its become impossible.
  12. I'm fine with Bradley I don't really care what his season BA is really after that beginnign cold streak he's doing fine now
  13. I can't conceive of a situation in this game in which we score runs, much less advance a runner to third base
  14. score some runs you idiots, god damn
  15. if this particular Cubs team doesn't make the playoffs I'm giving up followign them for at least a few years we'd have to start rebuilding and the bloated contracts of some of our less worthwhile players will hold us back for a while, it'll be pretty brutal. This is a pretty make or break year.
  16. somebody hit a donger I dont want to watch this game in extras
  17. I am completely confident that we will lose this game now
  18. Yup, its time to commit suicide guys
  19. I gotta say, theres nothing that guarantee the Cubs a scoreless inning more than a lead off double I wish I could swear we strand more lead off doubles than anyone else in the league but I'm sure we're aroudn teh middle of the pack or something
  20. I gotta say to a guy whos a casual NBA fan, Chris Anderson is a pretty entertaining player, he obviously gives 100% and is pretty exciting out there. Plus he looks hilarious Also to someone rooting against both the Cavaliers and the Lakers, the last two nights have been awesome. Essentially counterbalancing the bad karma of the Cubs games.
  21. I forgot that Lou wanted to give Fukudome more rest this year and now it makes more sense but Johnson in the three hole For chrissakes
  22. Yeah but Reed Johnson is gonna ground out three times and pop up to center once in the three hole So yeah I do blame him
