  1. Gotta say, even if Kosuke Fukudome hits a homer here we're still not winning the game Now THATS depressing
  2. lol i'm not even watching anymore so when i saw that we scored a run i was like, sweet we're only down 5 now thats somewhat doable but i didn't notice we gave up a run at the top half of the inning, lol nice job
  3. Gotta say it would be nice to see Soriano not go 0-5 tonight I know I'm asking a lot here guys
  4. gotta say, if we're going out like chumps at least we'll have some company thanks Brewers, for making my misery slightly less painful. Do you guys even have a starter for game 3 yet?
  5. Hillenmeyer has been absolutely brutal this year and I dont think I want to see him starting ever again
  6. Gotta say, getting some scheudenfreude from watching the Brewers fail Though I know its in our best interest for them to move on in the playoffs.
  7. Lilly vs. Manny scares me much, much more
  8. Why should I be nervous? We have a little better than 1/8 chance of winning the World Series, so a loss is to be expected. What would be unexpected is a World Series victory.
  9. Relax chum, on the bright side the Mets will claw and gnash to get in, and the Brewers will calmly disembowel our B team and then promptly get squashed
  10. It was so amusing seeing them jump and down on the mound, like they won the world series. It was almost cute. Seriously? Give them a break. They're tied for the final playoff spot and just had a walkoff win. yeah i'm not begrudging them for celebrating, but i was listening to the game on WFAN and the guy was talking about how the mets have hung in there and come back after falling behind, and he was building up all the drama.... it's just hard to take seriously when they're barely beating a team that's not trying to win. not gonna give them a break right here going to have a nice night on the town, ciao
  11. It's been a long time since he had 2 hr in a single game. I'm just saying he makes the play. In no way was that a commentary about Hoffpauir's night. Not to mention the 'double' by Church in the 4th was a play Lee probably makes as well

  13. What we learned today: The Cubs AAA team matches up pretty well with the Mets Also Bob Howry needs to be taken out back and shot
  14. His at bat in the ninth was similarly brutal I'ma gonna swing at balls in the dirt! Woohoo
  15. I'm kinda upset that we put 91 pitches on Harden who kinda needs rest in a meaningless game Yank him...
  16. Gotta say, not too happy with the way our 2 best pitchers have pitched lately I would just pull Harden out right now and throw him in a hyperbaric rest chamber and shoot him to the moon then call him back for the playoffs
  17. I'm typically far more positive, there are tons worse on this board. I'm just getting far too many 2006 Cards vibes from this team. I'd almost rather not see them. The worse they are, the more crippled, injured and debilitated they are, the scarier they are in my mind. Obviously anything can happen, but I don't see why you wouldn't have more fear of the Phils, Mets, & Dodgers then. All 3 of those teams carry with them a greater expectation that they could get hot and carry themselves past us than the Brewers. Plus why are you comparing the pixie-dust laden Cards to the woeful 26-year drought Brewers? The two organizations are about as far apart in terms of "miracle production" as you can possibly imagine. I guess since the playoffs are such a crapshoot I fear our team getting overconfident against a weaker team (not that it would really do much to affect the outcome) and the incessant "omg we choked again, blah blah blah" that would come from it. We've had such a great season, its such a shame that everything hinges on a few games in October for all the glory.

  19. I'm getting this uneasy feeling from the Brewers. The more they play, the worse they look, the more they remind me of the 2006 Cardinals. Soon Dave Bush will be 2006 Jeff Weaver, leading them to improbable upset after improbable upset, and we go down in 7 to them. Good lord it would be the worst thing in the Universe.
  20. It was all those bad pitchers and Wood, I can live with it as long as Wood doesn't get rusty. Because when Wood gets rusty it means he starts blowing 2 run leads like mad
  21. All of said innings were pretty terrible.
  22. Mets team is so full of fail its not even funny They are carbon copies of the 2004 Cubs
  23. Well glad to see Derrek Lee walking more I'm liking more of what he's doing at the plate lately
  24. They are down 3-1. I'm sure Hawk isn't even announcing. The frustrating part has to be losing to a Twin team that isn't all that good. Except the fact that Twins are a really good team. The are 2 games off their PYthagorean Record...So it's not as if they are flukes. Twins are a really good team, prolly better then the White Sox, who coincendentally are playing right were they should be. So don't underestimate the Twins. I guess, the thing about them isn't their Pythagorean, its that they are scoring runs with a really really bad offense. They trot out the likes of Nick Punto, Carlos Gomez, Alex Casilla, just limitless amounts of mediocre to bad players. The only 2 everyday players with OPS's over .800 is Morneau and Mauer
