  1. Right now we're tied for the 5th seed. The 4th seed is Toronto. We'd beat them. The top seed is Detroit. We've proven we can beat them, too. Frankly, nothing in the East matters until playoff time.
  2. I'm pretty sure the Grizz wanted BOTH of those and that's why Pax didn't make the deal. That's what I'd read everywhere else up to now. Made no sense since Deng, although not a post-up big man, is an 18-and-7 player already, and the man's still only 21.
  3. This also seems like a good time to mention that if anyone gets a hold of more ticket windows than they need and can buy Phillies bleacher tickets for any of the 3 night games in that series (7/30-8/1), I'll pay you for them and give you my everlasting gratitude.
  4. I'm skipping my 10 a.m. class tomorrow to better my chances. Immoral? Probably. But I don't want to go the eBay route if I can avoid it this year.
  5. Here is the ludicrousness of the RPI in action. Right now ND's RPI is 44. Fine. They played a terrible OOC schedule and their Big East schedule is less than impressive too. Our SOS is currently ranked 114. But, if you subbed out ND's weakest two opponents (Winston-Salem St. - RPI 300 and The Citadel - RPI 308) for North Carolina A&T - RPI 302 and Morgan State - RPI 307: Our SOS rank would go from 114 to 102. Our RPI rating would go from 44 to 32. When your own ranking system seemingly ignores itself when it's calculated, what's that say?
  6. Actually, we probably would be a lot better with Eckstein. only because our current SS options suck
  7. I really hope SIU gets their first two games at Chicago. ND's an 8 seed in the new Bracketology and are slotted in Chicago with Wisconsin right now. If they actually do end up in Chi-town, I'm going to try to go.
  8. I forgot he was even in the organization.
  9. http://mlb.mlb.com/images/2005/10/25/F7rbaW8w.jpg
  10. I own last year's official BP hat and have no plans to buy anymore hats. That cap is so awesome, why bother?
  11. It's still pretty early in Arizona, so no. Here's a former-Cub in Florida: http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070221/capt.flrs10202211812.dodgers__spring_baseball_flrs102.jpg I still miss Nomar. :(
  12. Any chance ND randomly ends up in Chicago as a 6 seed or something to get the home court, like in 2003 when the committee basically extended a large middle finger to 4 seed Illinois by putting 5 seed ND in their Indianapolis pod?
  13. Ok, I've gotta admit, that's good.
  14. One more and we're in. Hopefully it's Marquette on Saturday. Looks like Wisco's going down, what a win for the Spartans.
  15. Spectacular game so far. I'm pleased with everyone except for Zach Hillesland tonight.
  16. Here's hoping they pitch enough for SI to run a redo of this cover at the All-Star break this year.
  17. That was at the All-Star break in 2003. This is the 2004 cover that ruined us: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/si_online/images/cover/2004/t1cover_0405.jpg
  18. Hahahaha, Falls just buries a triple from about 25 feet right before halftime to top it off. 19 for Falls at the break and ND's got a 40-22 lead. What a half.
  19. I figured ND might come out guns a-blazing. Helps that DePaul has evidently forgotten how to shoot.
  20. No problem, guys. The fact that SI referenced its own jinx on the cover negates the jinx. /grasping at straws
  21. And by all accounts, a damn good assistant coach. ND's off to a good start.
  22. Hopefully you're right. I'll be busting out my Leprechaun Legion T-shirt (that's the clever name for ND's student section) and backwards ND green hat, as I do for all ND national telecasts. Actually, hopefully I'm wrong. Notre Dame is more than likely tournament bound. DePaul needs to play their way in by not losing anymore regular season games (and possibly doing well in the Big East tourney) Help a brother out! ND is far from a lock. They probably need 2 more wins to feel secure and with a game with Marquette and a game at the RAC (where we haven't won since the Troy Murphy Era) left on the slate after tonight it's not exactly a given. Plus, the committee has a reputation for screwing over ND teams that left any doubt at all of their worthiness. The Irish were left out two straight years with 9-7 conference records that were compiled in the ridiculous era of two games with Cuse, UConn and Pitt every year. All this is a roundabout way of saying we need to get that 4th seed in the Big East tourney before I can definitively say we're not sweating on Selection Sunday.
  23. Hopefully you're right. I'll be busting out my Leprechaun Legion T-shirt (that's the clever name for ND's student section) and backwards ND green hat, as I do for all ND national telecasts. oh, you're one of THOSE guys You bet I am. I'd forgotten which poster on here had an issue with backwards hats, actually. :D
