  1. I got screwed up twice today because I didn't realize Jose Quintana hasn't actually freakin' pitched for the Mets yet. I ended up only getting 5/9, I think that might be the first time I've failed to get at least 6.
  2. I hold no illusions of legit getting back in the race but it would be nice to clobber STL a few times over this next week and a half.
  3. I'm rapidly closing in on posting on NSBB for half my life, so it'll be nice to bore some different people with my nonsense.
  4. 7/9 today, I don't know anything at all about the Twins. What I've seen from the 'most popular' squares when I miss indicates to me that I've pretty much memory-holed a ton of baseball since about 2018.
  5. I didn't fill the grid today but I pulled Tom Gordon out of my butt for NYY/PHI so that was fun.
  6. Just get rid of everyone and try again. I'm sick of this crap.
  7. Theo followed 3 crappy seasons with the best 3 season run any of us were alive to see. Anyone think Jed has that in his future?
  8. Well, sure, why not when you've got all that money you didn't spend on literally horsefeathers anything related to your baseball team
  9. Today's was relatively easy for me. I almost screwed myself by putting an obvious choice for one square into another that had easier alternatives, but luckily was able to make up for it. Set a new personal best rarity score too.
  10. Oh thank God, I was so looking forward to having Higgins back
  11. Lucky that Chang didn't catch the ball cleanly. It was probably the right call to let it stand but very close.
  12. Amaya could never deliver such a professional AB
  13. I got way too cute and thought Henry Rodriguez hit 40 homers in 98. Missing that kinda killed my motivation to go hard on the rest of the grid.
  14. I only got 6 today in part because of Bob Gibson and I also missed a stupidly obvious player that would've fit into 2 of the Royals boxes
  15. Yeah, that was a facepalm moment when the 'complete' screen came up. A lot of stuff between the mid-2000s and 2016 is pretty much a memory hole for me.
  16. I got stuck on 8. CIN/TOR just never came to me and I tossed Sean Marshall against the wall to see if it would stick. It didn't.
  17. 8/9 today, I incorrectly guessed Vinny Castilla for DET/COL so I didn't get to try DET/SD.
  18. I got 7/9, didn't even get to the point of making an Arizona/Seattle guess or a White Sox ROTY guess. Wasted a guess on incorrectly writing a 100-RBI Mariners guy into a ROTY Mariners square.
  19. That sucks. I've been pleasantly surprised not to have a Cubs ad patch yet. I know one is coming but at least I'm getting a few more months without one.
  20. I'm definitely not sure they don't have anti-hazing rules, that's fair. And they probably should.
  21. I know, but none of it was bilked from taxpayers (although not for lack of trying)
  22. I don't know what that means, but my assumption is that the Cubs aren't getting ASGs because they haven't bilked taxpayers out of money for a stadium recently, because that seems to be the main qualification for getting one.
  23. Maybe he should, but I don't think the NCAA is the entity qualified to make that decision. I would think a Penn State fan of all people would agree that when the NCAA appoints itself judge and jury over a matter they're not remotely equipped to handle it ends up looking bad for all involved.
  24. Why? I don't understand why every bad thing that happens in a college sports program needs to be addressed with pointless things like scholarship losses. The NCAA is not a crime-solving organization, this is not an NCAA rules issue, and the only people hurt by scholarship losses are whichever 18-year-olds don't get a football scholarship as a result of them.
