wasn't he making the major league minimum as a member of the 40-man roster? No, it's a split deal. AZPhil goes thru all that stuff and I'm not going to try and find it now. But I "think" that if you're on the 40 man and have never played in the majors, you're making 60k or so. But once you've made it to the bigs, you get a different split. Fairly substantial, to the point your AAA salary moves up to around 200k or so. At any rate, all these guys-Wada, Beeler, Hendricks, and Alcantara start making more just by coming up. Even if they're sent back down quickly. And for some reason I think Alcantara signed for around 100k, maybe 125.
