  1. Martyred from what I can tell, ironically right after I mentioned the Twitter thing. I tried my best not to come off as a dick to him and didn't harp on about it, but I felt like people had the right to know and make their own judgements. Whatev's, no regrets. I think I legit had multiple people put me on IL when I questioned how the hell he'd know the stuff about Tanaka that he was reporting when nobody else had it. It was some fly on the wall in the Yankees negotiations type stuff. I felt bad about that. It was like rabid dogs attacking or something.

  3. Rammy, does he even post there anymore or did he finally martyr himself away for good?
  4. True. But the ratio of doofy kids with nothing to doofy kids who are actually pretty good at hustling for sources is about a million to one. yeah i hope he's wrong and he picked like the worst ever person to piggyback on a report I'm not thinking that'd mean we weren't getting Russell.
  5. Writer for "Call to the Pen" with 17 K followers. 15-year-old kid in a bowtie who claims to be a member of something called the "International Baseball Writers Association" :( It looked legit for a minute and fooled me Yeah, I don't know. He could've bought Twitter followers like a certain PSD "insider" did. Holy [expletive], is THAT how he wound up with that amount of followers?
  6. A - Samardzija is more than just a rental. 1.5 cheap seasons left. B - uh, aren't all trades that eventually happen imminent at one point? and if you're talking about how they're reported, i still don't recall any of our trades coming completely out of thin air. In fairness, Rizzo was. Announced by the Cubs. i remember talks about rizzo and san diego being mentioned in passing days or weeks before (can't remember exactly) I remember hearing us connected to him, along with Tampa. But it was like a month before. The actual deal was just flat out announced out of no where though.
  7. And Hammel was pulled awfully early. True. Hell, he even called them out on it. Side note-Loxas saying Valbuena may be in and it may be a 3 team deal.
  8. To WSR though-Russell isn't playing tonight. That's serious.

  10. Website says Pimentel Wonder who'd start for us tomorrow? Can we throw Villanueva out there for 5?
  11. Just curious, who is scheduled to pitch for Iowa tomorrow?
  12. With our need for pitching, I'd guess that one of Millone, Straily, or Pomeranz would be involved Shark/Hammel/Valbuena for Gray/Russell/Straily......
  13. well the whole point is that it looks like he is dummy! Damnit, I laughed.
  14. Schwarber only hit a 2B. Therefore, he sucks.
  15. The A's? Unless Russell IS involved, I want them no where near Shark.
  16. Severino is their best pitching prospect, by far. But he's not a big guy(6',180). But he's definitely pitching well. Just got moved to High A. He's 20, but wasn't signed until he was 18. So he's moved very fast. Touches mid 90's, definitely moving up lists now. Ian Clarkin was a 1st rounder last year, a lefty. Solid stuff, mid rotation upside. Sits 90ish, touches 93-94. Gary Sanchez is their best prospect, I guess. He's a C. Has improved behind the plate, still not anything close to a guarantee to stick there. Big bat, but numbers have dropped the higher he's moved up. Questionable makeup, not a hard worker, by some reports. To me, they don't have the pieces to get Shark. For Hammel, 1of that group would definitely need to be involved, along with others. JR Murphy, Manny Banuelos, Rafael Depaula, Slade Heathcott, probably a few others could make semi-decent 2nd or 3rd pieces.(Murphy is a C, Heathcott an OF, other 2 are pitchers) Aaron Judge and Mason Williams(OFers) also fall in this group. Not a fan of their system and would rather deal Hammel elsewhere myself. Unless they're sending 2 of the first 3 names I mentioned.
  17. Saw that. Basically said its not Renteria making the call. My guess is he's gone prior to his next start. I wonder if the plan for Wada isn't just for him to be the DH guy. :( I'm not ready to start the dismantling yet. I honestly think between Wada, Beeler, and Hendricks that over the course of the rest of the season, we won't see a drop off from what Hammel does going forward.

  19. We'll be a playoff team next year. I truly believe that.
  20. No. Sutcliffe said that Theo said that if they win 10 in a row we're buyers. Almost halfway there. Unless he told Sutcliffe separately, wasn't it actually 15 in that quote?
  21. It's looking more and more likely Span may make it to FA. I'd love to get him for CF. Markakis is my top choice at a corner, but I'm not all that hopeful he makes it to FA. Rasmus could be a great buy-low guy. If we're only after one OF, I'd go after any of them prior to Melky.
