  1. The Cards are just flat out trolling us. They signed a SS named Starlin Balbuena.
  2. Awesome to get him in. Unless someone signs for 115k or so, we're done. Was hopeful we'd find a way to get Deppermann, but getting Cease is a coup.
  3. I asked Kiley if we've got anything set for next year and he said he bets we will in a few months.
  4. He corrected himself. SS Francisco Garay- bonus unknown
  5. Kiley confirmed-no signings today for us.
  6. Badler and Kiley both think so, but everyone knows its coming and the Yankees doing this could put it that much higher on MLB's priority list. So who knows?
  7. We didn't have the money :( No, this is one I actually blame the FO on. With the rumors that a team missed out on guys due to handlers not thinking they could sign them all....I figure that was us and we should have done a better job of conveying it to the handlers. Granted, I doubt the super friends have much to do with this side of things, it's probably all in Serra's hands(and whoever else has the contacts down there) Still, they oversee, so ultimately it's on them. That said, at least we DID get some excellent talent out of it.
  8. Yankees have signed 21 players today for 12 mill and are expected to sign a few more, including a 3 mill guy. THAT is what we needed to do last year and better do next year, if the Yanks haven't ruined it for everyone.
  9. Almora is 3-3 with a walk. Pierce has gone 5, giving up a hit and 2 walks, with 3 K's. just 63 pitches.
  10. He also singled in the 1st and scored on a Vogelbacb single then. They're definitely coming around.
  11. I saw one for the Rangers. Maybe a guy named Nunez? Can't remember if it was Badler or not. Was probably Sanchez.
  12. It's pretty clear Parks has Alcantara in the top 20. My only question is he saying Soler isn't top 40? Does he have Almora there instead? Soler is not in the mid season top 50.
  13. Broussard tweeted Knicks won't consider a S&T involving Boozer. Yeah, it's Broussard, but I fully expect that to be true. Bringing Taj into the meeting, when he's going to have to be dealt just to get Melo remotely close monetarily, was stupid.
  14. Even if its wrong, I still want another guy considered a frontline starter. Hell, if we want Hammel, trade him and re-sign him in the offseason. And while I know that's never actually done, he's made comments to where I think it's a legit option. If he keeps this up all year, a QO isn't going to keep teams from bidding on him.
  15. I'm not sold on Hammel, as good as he's been this year.
  16. I'd rather trade Hammel and sign Lester or Shields.
  17. He's flying out tonight for Dallas and Houston tomorrow, Lakers on Wednesday. At least that was the plan earlier today.
  18. That makes sense. Still, at 3.1 mill, I'm not so sure Aiken could turn that down. Top 10 money for a pitcher......It's not his ideal scenario obviously, but it's a pretty nice chunk.
  19. He could go the JUCO route and be eligible again next year. I'm not sure of the transfer rules in college baseball, but I think he can leave/not enroll at UCLA, go directly to a JUCO/CC and be eligible again the following year. Not positive, but even with a failed physical, I think the Astros are required to offer him 40% of slot regardless. Their value was a tad over 7.9 mill, if there were an injury of any sort, it'd be awfully tough for Aiken to turn down 3.5 mill when all is said and done.
  20. Hasn't been mentioned here, but the longer the time is between when Aiken took his physical and when the signing is announced......The more speculation grows Aiken failed his physical. If so, the Astros going back to back with him and Appel looks disastrous.
  21. If our budget next year is in the 100 million vicinity, I honestly don't want Scherzer. Give me Lester or Shields instead.
  22. I believe he's saying that, if we call up Bryant and keep Samardzija, we're at decent risk of not finishing bottom ten. Ah, misunderstood. But I think Alcantara is the only good prospect we've got that sees the majors this year. Outside of him, all I think we see is Hendricks, Wada, Vizcaino in September and maybe Rivero.
