  1. So, who's all free agents on the Bulls? What will the team look like next year?
  2. You said Cedeno and Hall of Famer in the same sentence, therefore you think Cedeno is going to become a Hall of Famer and because of this I can no longer put any stock into what you say. Good day sir. How many games have you watched? it's obvious he's turned the corner (or in this case, turned the corner, went about 3 blocks, and up to the penthouse on the top floor).
  3. If Soriano misplays one with Carlos on the mound, he may get Barrett-ed.
  4. Oh snap. That'd be a great birthday gift to go to that game.
  5. Why can't people look at a comparison for what it is? Comparing 2 things don't make them similar. It just makes them compared. Nobody is saying Cedeno is going to be a hall of famer and hit over 500 HRs in his career by comparing him to 3 players that did. People are just pointing out that a bad rookie season doesn't mean that player is a bust. What's so hard to understand about that?
  6. First let me start off by thanking everyone for the kind words that have been expressed. All I can say is what a difference a year makes!! All Sean's hard work and dedication looked so much better and especially the "dropping of the weight". It was almost as if you were looking at a different person and his motion looked so much easier. I spoke with Sean after the game and told him that folks over at "NSBB" were wishing him the best. He's looking forward to doing whatever the team asks of him at this point. I must say that his velocity was great but especially the movement he had on his 2 seamer. It was a proud night at the gallagher household but Sean knows he still has work to do and hopefully he can continue to impress. Movement was nasty. I worry about him being able to contain that though, especially if he gets used only sparingly. I will say that he is EASILY the hardest working prospect I have ever seen in the Cubs system. He was rated low because of his lack of "projectability", but to me he made his own upside. When people said he couldn't add velocity, he went out and threw harder. When people said he didn't have the stamina, he went out and lost weight. You raised a good kid, Mr. Gallagher.
  7. Derek Bell took some great swings in that game. I remember getting back to my room in the 4th inning that day. I had a final that day, and almost sprinted home to see the game for one, and to try to avoid the pouring rain. Wood just struck out the last batter of that inning to make it 8 thru 4. At that point, I assumed that there would be a rain delay in this game's near future. Wood had an amazing 5 men strikeout looking in a row. And TWICE struck out 5 in a row swinging. I'll always hate Craig Biggio for completing selling out to put the ball in play in the 9th, so his team wouldn't be on the wrong end of non-shared history. I hate Ricky Gutierrez for that "hit". I hate Kevin Orie for not making a play. I hate Bob Rosenberg for not scoring that play an error. I hate Kerry Wood for not doing it again.
  8. No reason for Cedeno not to have started at 3B today.
  9. Wow that was a great catch by Felix. I still think Corey's against Griffey was better, though.
  10. Yeah, pretty much. Neither should start vs. RHPs. Johnson's probably a little better defensively too.
  11. I'm not a coffee drinker. And definitely not a drinker of coffee when it is disguised with foam, sugar, chocolate, etc. But for some reason I always end up with Starbucks gift cards and I have no idea where they come from. Never had anything from there other than muffins or coffee cake.
  12. Lou seems to like keeping a lineup that wins a game, given that the pitchers faced in both games throw with the same hand. I think you will see him go with a different lineup tonight.
  13. Along with Hill, it's not a coincedence the 3 all make less than a million per year.....meaning none of them have the service time it apparantly takes to get Lou's respect.
  14. Pie probably sits again today and then starts vs. Aaron Harang (one of the best pitchers in the NL) and then again against Webb and Haren this weekend and Lou will have justification that Felix is struggling.
  15. I thought Gallagher was a little high with his fastball often times, and he didn't throw many curveballs. But his stuff was electric yesterday. I really hopes he gets a legit shot to get into the rotation.
  16. I have really never like Jeff Samardzija as a baseball player.
  17. The one thing Colvin has shown is that he can play CF in the majors. It's 100% up to his bat at this point. Disappointing that he still hasn't shown he can hit for average, make contact consistently, take pitches consistently, or hit for power yet.
  18. Yeah, they shoulda booed instead. Well, that would have made more sense than celebrating like they won the championship already.
  19. There will be at least 1 division leader in the East not among them anymore. There will be at least 1 team that falls 2 games back.
  20. Hard to prove anything from the bench. And again, he's hit way better than Johnson since Lou and Perry "worked with him" after the Pittsburgh series.
  21. fixed It was right the first time.
  22. Likewise, Marquis was incredibly lucky that Duncan's blast in the first was snagged by Lee. That would have scored two runs, easily. Pujols also hit a rocket that turned into a DP.
