  1. Because he is not significantly better than Fontenot? Seriously...what's the big deal? I'd rather have a Cedeno (SS)/Fontenot (2B) MI than CannonArmTheriot (SS)/Cedeno (2B) MI. I'd rather have the potential help off the bench in case the game gets close enough for it to matter. Theriot is better. He's better defensively at SS than Fotenot is at 2B. Lou is down 5 runs with 6 innings to go, and now has to catch up with a lesser offense than he started the game with....and has less flexibility now off the bench that will undoubtedly see at least a couple pinch hitters and 4-5 relievers.
  2. Derrek has made like 13 outs in his last 7 ABs. That's at least his 5th DP since Sunday.
  3. Volquez can be beaten. He's prone to walk people (4.5 per 9). And gave up a lot of long balls in his time in Texas. Gotta be patient with him and make him throw his fastball from behind in the count. I like the Soto/Cedeno combo in the 6-7 spots today. Neither played last time the Cubs faced Volquez, and both are swinging the bat well enough to do some damage today.
  4. Soriano isn't 100%. A rest today with the off day tomorrow is probably just enough to get him to 100% by Friday. He probably won't sit again for a long time. I have no problem with him getting today off. It's a lot better to get a guy a day off after a good game rather than sit him after an 0-5, when he doesn't get a chance to redeem himself.
  5. Some people can never be happy! LOL. One thing at a time. Getting the right people in the lineup has been a challenge so far for Lou. I wonder if Cedeno has another big game, would Lou throw him in there at SS on Friday. I'd imagine unless Derosa is hurt, he would play.
  6. I'm guessing it's more about Cedeno getting 2 days on. Why is Soto catching again? The kid's gonna hit a wall come August. Of course, I feel sorry for that wall.
  7. Bears are doing a good job of realizing the dead weight that was on this team. Between Archuleta, Muhammad, Griese, and Miller....the Bears have made the right moves.
  8. Do you live in Chicago? White Sox fans are vicious. I heard about Mark's no-hitter last year for a couple of weeks. ok? Either way, Gavin Floyd will not amount to much. And he coulda thrown a perfect game, and it still wouldn't have been the best performance on May 6th in this generation.
  9. Why would any Cubs fan care if a Sox player threw a no-hitter? Why would you root against him?
  10. C'mon now. You are talking about a team that has switched their rotation around and skipped starters about 3 times in April.
  11. D'antoni imminent to Chicago?
  12. Ozzie has got to go. He's running an asylum. No control of his team, the media, or his emotions. He's Hal McRae all over again.
  13. Lawson would be a good fit. I do think the Bulls are going to go after a legit PG this draft, either way unless a big man they can't pass up falls in their laps.
  14. This scenario would move Fukudome to the best possible spot in the order for him....2nd.
  15. I'd welcome Griffey in RF, if Fukudome can play a solid CF. The one game he was in CF, Fukudome didn't look like a long-term option there.
  16. Brenly has a strange hatred for Felix also. He's bashed him consistently for the last week and a half in the games I have seen.
  17. If he can't play by Friday, he needs to go on the DL. It will be 10-days by the end of the Arizona series, might as well sit him another 5 days if that's the case. Of course, the Cubs will just removed Eyre from the DL, giving them the ever necessary 13th pitcher or callup Eric Patterson to help take ABs away from Cedeno.
  18. Chris Simms will almost certainly be available. I'd really like to pick him up. Also, guys like Kyle Boller, Brock Berlin, Ken Dorsey, AJ Feeley, Gus Ferrotte, and Chad Pennington, could be out there, some will be cuts, others probably available in a trade.
  19. I miss the chunky Kerry Wood. He was jolly.
  20. Interesting. Though, that does give me hope that the Cubs will start scoring runs again. They are still showing the same patience. They are still getting guys on base. The difference between them winning and losing games right now is how they hit w/ RISP.
  21. Buying crack and trafficking it to my community.
  22. I'd like Avery over D'Antoni also, but I think either could lead the Bulls to a championship. D'Antoni probably fits the current players best.
  23. Z was pitching when Soriano knocked the ball out of Fukudome's glove. There was the Ward misplay in that game too. Maybe Z has changed.
