D'Antoni has accepted the Knicks offer to become their head coach. -
The problem wasn't that the Cubs traded Pinto, Nolasco and Mitre. The problem is that they traded all 3 of them in the same trade.....for Juan Pierre. They were 3 of the Cubs top 5 pitching prospects at the time. Most figured they could have gotten a better player than Pierre for those 3. Or perhaps they could have traded one plus a similar prospects for Pierre and used the other 2 for another player.

yeah i am really hoping that malkin wants an ovechkin-type contract and the pens decide they can't afford both him and crosby. i don't like the two of them being on the same team. fleury is an RFA this offseason and malone, hossa, ruutu and orpik are all UFA. the pens are going to have a salary crunch that i do not envy. I think the Pens will pay Malkin and Fleury. The rest are probably gone.

Considering what we got in return for Cruz, we should have kept both. Even if he never pitched for us, his production would have been higher than what was provided by Walky McNo-control. Was that the Andy Pratt deal?
