  1. Regular or Mac? Just kidding; there's only one choice. http://38.media.tumblr.com/cd7765c4bfbe7d124ad2b7bf344b9588/tumblr_n91lbyRmTm1s2wio8o2_500.gif YES!
  2. He just keeps getting better. LMAO @ the rest of the NL.
  3. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/7/71/891305/jay-cutler-lacks-poise-inconsistent-needs-accountable-angelo-says Eh, Cutler has consistently been one of the best 4th quarter and comeback wins QBs in the league in his career, IIRC. I think his biggest issue is he doesn't anticipate very well. He's fine at throwing to an open man. I think he struggles to throw a receiver open and to anticipate throws to said receivers when they are making their breaks. I think that was a big difference in the 2014 and 2013 Bears offenses. Teams played a lot more man coverage against Marshall and Jeffery (Brandon lost a step, both were not 100% until Jeffery late in the year), and a combination of a boring route tree and Jay's lack of anticipation, which is more necessary vs. good man coverage....cause the offense to falter last year.
  4. Denorfia has quietly been pretty bad for about 3-4 weeks. And yeah, that's how it should be. Schwarber against all pitchers that throw under a mid 90s fastball with their left arm.
  5. [expletive]. You're not Butters! If you not Butters, don't be startin' no threads!
  6. I'll still have Underwood as the top pitching prospect, provided he doesn't need Tommy John. I'm overlooking the K numbers, basically because he can do that and I know he has the ability to miss bats over the long term.
  7. Trying to guess what Mattingly will do is impossible. Pretty interesting. The Dodgers have an off day on Thursday and next Monday. So as of right now, Kershaw is scheduled to pitch tomorrow and not again til next Tuesday. Greinke is schedule Sunday (yesterday), Sunday, and then Saturday. They are basically on a college rotation for the next couple weeks. I could see them skipping Anderson or Wood and going Greinke on Saturday, Kershaw on Sunday. Which would put them game 1 and 2 of the Cubs series, instead of 2 and 3. Then Greinke would be good to go in the final game of the SF series.
  8. You'd probably need to win them all and we all know that's not happening. If they are 3.5 back, going 4-2 gets them to 1.5 back. Cubs have the game in hand, so that's basically 1 more game they have to win when the Cards lose. Far from impossible.
  9. I'm rooting for the Giants too. Win and you don't have to ever worry about them.
  10. I'm annoyed and miffed by a lot of his in-game decisions, but no more than anyone else's. But he clearly is a huge difference in the lockerroom, which is why I wanted him in the first place.
  11. I fully supported Marshall on the Chicago Bears and completely buy him being a better person than he was as a younger player. But man, he is bat [expletive] [expletive] crazy.
  12. His peripherals are pretty much the same as they have been. He's just not hitting for as high of an average (unlucky). And he's actually hit for MORE power this year than he has in most other years (1 away from career high in HRs).
  13. That's a very, very different player from the guy the Cubs traded for. The guy the Cubs traded for probably has no shot at a .218 IsoSLG, especially going into his 30s. I assume .392 OBP? I wouldn't expect that from Fowler either. Only because they probably need two OFers am I kinda sorta OK with extending Fowler. I think he's best used to recoup a pick. Actually, I think it's .442 OBP. Still, by the end of the season his numbers will look about how they were expected to look when they signed him (that's what my comment meant).
  14. Dexter Fowler hitting .297/.492/.515 over his last 27 games. This is the guy that the Cubs traded for, and I would like to re-sign to play CF (if no Heyward). Yeah, and I hate Howie Kendrick too.
  15. Anyone that didn't figure Schwarber would be sitting today, 10 days ago when Sale was the scheduled starter in this game, was naive.
  16. The Cubs were 51-46 three weeks ago. It's crazy because I knew the rookies would be good, I just didn't think they'd be this good, this fast. And when none of them were hitting, I figured they would all eventually hit, but I was as skeptical as anyone. Everything has gone pretty well so far. If you'd told me that Castro would be terrible, Baez would not even see the majors, and Soler had only 5 HRs....I'd thought this season was a disaster. But the offensive slump coincided with the starting pitching being lights out. Arrieta is still da Gawd, but the Cubs have more than survived lackluster starts from Hammel, Hendricks, Hammel, Richard, and Beeler, now that the offense has turned it up.
  17. I feel like you post this when Schwarber is due up. I know Bryant and Rizzo are right after him, but I think Schwarber's is your dong of choice.
  18. Because he was feeling good enough to get two weak groundouts and was only at 98 pitches. Don't forget, the pen went 5 2/3 innings yesterday and we've got Dan Haren going tomorrow. With 4 relievers. Grimm threw 17 pitches. Rondon 8. Russell should be extremely fresh. I don't have a problem with keeping Arrieta in there, hoping he could get thru with 7-10 pitches. But at some point, he has to stop having the burden of being the guy to save the pen. You got 8 guys down there. He got the first out on one pitch and the second out on two pitches. He then threw four pitches, gave up a double and Joe yanked him. What's the issue here? It's not like he left him in there to labor in the seventh and throw 115-120 pitches. He got two very quick outs, gave up a hit and was removed. Obviously, the issue was him going to start the 7th in the first place. Results have nothing to do with what was the right move. Not saying this was wrong, but he threw 117 last time out.

  20. Because the bullpen has been stretched and used a ton lately. Should be able to finish this game with everyone but Richard and Rondon.
