  1. Montero is the best thing that has happened to the Cubs.
  2. Yeah, Fangio needs to do a better job of protecting him. He saw every #1 WR all year, has seen the #1 WR most of camp (Jeffery in practice, Hilton). When he was good early in the year, Tillman was healthy, but also the team used his best asset, his versatility better than putting him on an island against the Calvin Johnsons, Dez Bryants, and Jordy Nelsons of the league.
  3. That is borderline erotic. LMAO @ borderline. If I wasn't at work right now..... :^o
  4. Apparently it's for a DUI from when he was with the Cowboys January 2013. Lose our best D Lineman for the 3 toughest games of the year for something that happened before he was even in a Bears uniform. And it's not like the Bears just picked him up. He has had a contract end and re-signed since acquired.
  5. All opposite field shots today. None on pitches that were that bad.
  6. One more Soler. Let's make it a laugher.
  7. As a SS overall, he's hitting (22-69) .319/.342/.609 for a .951 OPS. Since becoming the everyday SS, he is 16-48, with 5 doubles, 2 HRs, 2 BBs, and 9 Ks (.333/.360/.563).
  8. In what way are they better? Dodgers have a better OPS (best OBP in the NL & higher SLG than Giants also). The Dodgers have better pitching, especially starting pitching. The Dodgers are also the best defensive team in the league in terms of fielding % and fewest errors.
  9. That's how it's supposed to be. I was so stunned when Vick went to prison, because that's not how it's supposed to work. Vick was the money maker. With his financial backing, all his crew had money/opportunities. Someone takes the fall for him, he continues to make money and that person does a couple years and gets fairly compensated when he gets out. Borland is not familiar with the old hood spiritual...."If I'm winning, the whole team winning".
  10. Ugh. Pirates have the Marlins, Rockies and Brewers for 10 games after today. Go Giants (before we put you out of your misery).
  11. No drama today for Rondon. #wearegood
  12. Why in God's name would someone be paid to write this. Wow. That's dumb as [expletive]
  13. 7 straight multi-hit games. 15-34, but with only 2 doubles, this 1 HR, 2 BBs, and 9 Ks.
  14. Williams Perez (WTF kinda name is that? Two last names?) Well, he started off 4-0 with a sub 3 ERA. Well since he came back from the minors, or DL, or wherever the hell he was....he's been as terrible as his name is. He's lost 4 straight starts, walking 4 batters in 3 of them. Striking out 8 in all of them....TOTAL. He gives up HRs. He gives up as many groundballs as flyballs. He's only gone in triple digit pitches 5 times in 12 starts, and only twice over 101. He struggles in the 1st inning, and again once he's on the 3rd time around the order. If Haren gives up 3 or fewer runs in at least 5 innings, the Cubs should win this game. They should score 6 on this guy and the middle relief.
  15. Cubs lineup is the same as yesterday.
  16. Matthews, Murray, Kelce, and Luck.
  17. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/7/71/891305/jay-cutler-lacks-poise-inconsistent-needs-accountable-angelo-says Eh, Cutler has consistently been one of the best 4th quarter and comeback wins QBs in the league in his career, IIRC. I think his biggest issue is he doesn't anticipate very well. He's fine at throwing to an open man. I think he struggles to throw a receiver open and to anticipate throws to said receivers when they are making their breaks. I think that was a big difference in the 2014 and 2013 Bears offenses. Teams played a lot more man coverage against Marshall and Jeffery (Brandon lost a step, both were not 100% until Jeffery late in the year), and a combination of a boring route tree and Jay's lack of anticipation, which is more necessary vs. good man coverage....cause the offense to falter last year. i think Angelo is pretty much right. Jay's lazy and he makes lazy throws. If he worked harder could he be a full-field quarterback? maybe, everybody says he's super-smart. that said, even as he is, he's a pretty decent quarterback, but by-and-large, Angelo is spot on with his analysis. there was one throw against Green Bay that Jay made that said it all last year. it was to a covered Forte in the flat, but trying to hit him in stride. It was a terrible throw, but an even worse decision. He wasn't trying to throw the ball away, but it looked like he was, he threw it too early and he threw it with a man on Forte's back. It finally made me put aside my irrational Cutler love and simply think of him as a decent QB. You're calling a guy who works out with his WRs all offseason in remote areas, has learned new offenses before everyone else several times over the last 6 years, and as a diabetic, shows up in great shape every year....lazy? And 1 throw changed your mind on him? Your post is as cliche as the "doesn't care, body language" crowd.

  19. If today's lineup is going to be the lineup going forward (no reason why it shouldn't be), then Herrera is the only LH bat off the bench, unless you want to assume LaStella who has barely played baseball in the last year is a better option. Herrera is also pretty good defensively at 3 IF spots. Herrera will be on the playoff roster, if the Cubs have a playoff roster.
  20. Just deeper. Not an Olt fan but the Cubs really need a power guy off the bench and then you have guys like La Stella and Villanueva that can contribute. A guy with a .578 OPS in 300 career PAs, another with a .639 OPS in 350 PAs, and another 1 year removed from a .676 OPS in AA. That's not better, that's deeper.
