  1. *sigh* Even if Dunn came to the Cubs his discipline at the plate would go bye-bye. You really think Dusty and Geno would let him take so many pitches? They'd force him to be more aggressive and ruin everything that makes him a good ballplayer.
  2. Maybe package Hill, one A and one B prospect for Zito? With Oakland's track record they could turn Hill around into a great pitcher. Maybe Hill, Brownlie, and Sing?
  3. I'm on board!
  4. I mean.... I don't know. I have no words. The first half sounds like Dusty. The latter sounds like a bumbling [expletive].
  5. Blackouts make me angry. Especially when the game is on CSN and ESPNHD at the same time. So instead of getting beautiful High Def baseball, I get high school level production.
  6. So has this story gotten to ESPN yet or are they protecting their golden child?
  7. Agreed, guilt by association doesn't work. If my co-worker is a druggie, but nobody found out until after he left, does that mean I am too? I mean, I worked with him on many projects, sometimes quite a bit of overtime..... You see, sometimes, a working relationship never goes deeper than professionals working together. Burn him..., burn the witch!!! I don't like this climate..., I don't like it at all. That's a little different. Working with someone and having someone as your personal trainer/Stregnth and conditioning coach are two totally different things.
  8. Completely agreed. And if this ends up true, it wouldn't be all that bad for baseball. Pujols isn't the face of baseball though he may be the best hitter in the game.
  9. Nicely done! :D Thanks. I had a fear that would get lost somewhere. Glad to see I'm not the only one who remembers his Hair Metal roots.
  10. Will you slip an expletive in before that too?
  11. If he got sore playing first..... Plus...we can't keep Hank White's bat out of the linup. Not by choice, but because nothing can stop the immovable force that is BlancOWN's mighty bat.
  12. VerySadCubFan? I don't know, but let's not think about it. Ostrich syndrome, you know?
  13. I thought that was supposed to be the Baseball Village out there. I'd heard rumor they were going to have apartments that look into the stadium ala Wrigley.
  14. I said the same thing with a few more profanities.
  15. I had a dream last night that with Pujols on the DL the Cardinals somehow got the Reds to make a trade with them for Dunn. It was scary.
  16. My wife's birth certificate says she was born on July 11th, 1980. It's not even close to accurate. The idea that any government identification document from a third world country can be relied upon is stupid. Pujols looks old. Older than, say, me, despite his younger age. It's no shock that someone born in a country with a horribly corrupt government who looks a decade older than his claimed age isn't believed. edit: frankly, I don't see what the big deal is. If he's older, the cardinals signed him to a contract that he'll be declining by the end of. It doesn't affect the Cubs at all except in making the Cards more likely to sign/have signed a bad contract. Presumably that's a good thing. If he's his stated age, he's a double freak and congrats cards fans. He's the best. Hopefully not for long The problem is that most talking heads talk about how he can be the greatest player of all time because of how young he is. If he's really 3-5 years older, that puts him right in his prime instead of a few years away from reaching his peak, thus nullifying the argument. He's really good either way, but at his alleged age it's unreal. That's why it's a big deal that he be exposed as older than he claims.
  17. That is all the mention in the entire article so I'm not thinking it is serious. Hopefully the game or two we have without him opens ownership's eyes to how badly we need another serious bat. wasn't it Nevin that hit the pop up?
  18. Yeah, he's pretty unlistenable. Last night while I was driving to St. Louis WGN was starting to go out and I listened to about 2 minutes of the Cardinals broadcast before switching back and listening to Pat and white noise.
  19. They're paying all but $375,000 of his salary. That being the case, you really can't complain about this move. Besides the whole 6 weeks late thing.
  20. Marshall stays in top form he could get some ROY votes.
  21. How much money is Texas sending in this deal?
  22. I'm pretty sure So's middle name is Effing.
