    1) no way only Prior nets Tejada 2) Not very likely you'll have enough money for that. Not to mention we need a huge bopper in either LF or RF. 1: Tejada would not be WORTH more then Prior by himself. Anybody with Prior would be overpayment for Tejada. Miguel is good, but not THAT good. The only way they get multiple players for Tejada, is if they settle for prospects. 2: I'm not convince at this Matsuzaka. I know he has the talent, but with Mac Suzuki (not ex-Sea closer), Hedeki Irabu, Hideo Nomo, Shingo, Ishii etc, etc Japan hasn't exactly set the world on fired with exported pitching talent. And with this Mats commanding front-line money, I would just rather go after Schdmit, since we know what he can do in MLB, something we don't know with Mats. The difference is Matsuzaka is to Japanese baseball what Michael Jordan was to American basetball. He's a national hero over there, everybody knows his name. You cannot compare him to Shingo and Nomo, that's just not fair.

    They were booing the ruling of a hit, not Utley as a player. Not that it matters in any way if they did. Cubs fans are 100% classy as well I'm sure. Booing guys like Pujols every time he bats. Every fan base is like this, there is no use acting like it's isolated to one or that one is better than another. Your vendetta is laughable. They're not booing, they're "Pu-ing."

    If it was just Ozzy era Sabbath, then maybe. But you have to lump in all the Dio Sabbath crap... so with that dragging them down, Queen easily wins this.

    The way I see it, the Orioles still owe us for the Patterson deal, so maybe they'll be likely to work out a deal. From their standpoint, the Cubs obviously can't evaluate talent and they feel they can fleece the Cubs again.

    Agreed. Led Zeppelin is IMO the greatest band ever, and if they lose to the band that has put out the same album 6 times in the last 15 years... I'll probably cry.

    How on earth did that happen? Motley Crue? That's embarrassing. For a lot of people (me included) that wasn't so much a vote for the Crue as it was a vote against Floyd. A little John Kerry syndrome. I fully support my vote FOR Motley Crue.

    And the whole "best fans in baseball" silliness is not something that every Cardinal fan touts like it's a fact. Granted, some idiots do, but certainly you can't lump the morons in with intelligent fans. Every team has intelligent fans, every team has idiots. Such is life.Why then is there constant graphics on the scoreboards and whatnot that read "Best Fans In Baseball - Sporting News"? That and the whole "Baseball Heaven" thing bothers me too... really the new Busch is just a new park just like any other.

    I have mixed feelings on Dierker. While I like most of his philosophies, have you seen his teams he lists in the book as the best teams assembled of the players during his tenure in baseball? He has Craig Biggio starting at 2B, and Jeff Bagwell is the backup 1B. He left out Pete Rose, Mark McGwire, Robin Yount, and the list goes on. I listened to a radio interview with him and he really didn't have any reason to backup his claims on those two guys (Biggio and Bagwell). Just seems like they were "his guys" which is all too familiar.

    The Cards would be getting fleeced in this deal. Right now Reyes is their second best pitcher, and if he continues to develop (as he likely will), he'll end up better than Dontrelle. That being said - go for it!
