    It's a religious thing, much in the same vein of the people that have protested Arizona State and Duke to drop the "Devil" from their team nicknames. Doesn't that seem a little.... creepy to anyone else? There's nothing wrong with the word "devil" especially when describing a breed of ray. You'd think they were the Tampa Bay Satanists or something.

    That was my first thought. I was reading the story with my wife (a Cardinals fan) and the first thing I said was "wow, this happened under the eagle-eye watch of Tony LaRussa?" Maybe silly coincidence, but who knows. Well this would have happened when Ankiel was in spring training down in Florida. So it would be pretty hard for Larussa to know what he was doing down there. Pretty sure TLR goes with the team to Spring Training in Jupiter.

    Hill has had a few meltdown starts in which he has given up multiple homeruns, that just seems like a part of who he is as a pitcher right now, vulnerable to the long ball. He might be tipping his pitches, but you can't say that for sure. he threw a first pitch curve to cameron, not a bad pitch, and cameron was just sitting on it. The Pads are either stealing signs or know something that no other team does. I wish that Hill was pitching tomorrow against a different team. There's something going on. Even when Hill's not on his A game does he get battered around like this. Let's see if they go to a new set of signs next inning.
