  1. Why was he trying to throw a ball through a garbage bag?
  2. A good manager would light a fire under this teams butts and tell the media why they're not performing. He constantly makes excuses for everything that goes wrong and never comes forward and tells it like it is. Look what's happened in Detroit.
  3. I hate that I pay extra for the HD tier with my cable provider to get baseball games in HD, but whenever a game is on WGN or CSN the HD broadcasts get blacked out.
  4. Bump. Had the perfect opportunity to drop this piece of turd, but alas he held on like the dingleberry that he is.
  5. Maybe they can trade for Josh Bard...
  6. I'm not the praying type, but I'm praying this is the case.
  7. If you made Cubs losing streaks illegal, who would you penalize - the Cubs for losing, or the team that beats them?
  8. Question: Would you take Macias over Bynum right now? I know I would.
  9. If you are going to sac bunt, why put in a guy who's never successfully laid one down in his career? I would have much rather seen Maddux brought in to that situation if you're 100% sure you're going to sacrifice bunt. Bynum sucks. His skills suck. His fundamentals suck. I don't understand why he is in the Major Leagues. I honestly think at least half the people on this board would be more valuable to the Cubs than Bynum. At least I can catch an easy fly ball and lay down a bunt. That's exactly right. The only thing he brings to the team is speed, but there's already faster guys on this team, and even more in the system that can be brought up who not only run better, but bring other tools to the game. It's time we cut our losses and be done with him. If he finds success with another team, good for him.
  10. That's exactly what I screamed at my TV. Maddux is the best sac bunter on the team.
  11. It had a lot more to do with his inability to get a hit when we needed it. How many times could he have won the game by reaching base? At least twice. Add that to his lack of arm stregnth, and he was pretty responsible.
  12. I was going to get some Old Style for the night, but I'm so disgusted with the Cubs I think it'll be something that doesn't remind me of how horrible we are. Maybe some Bass.
  13. Corey PattersonJim Edmonds Andruw Jones To name a few
  14. I don't think it made it all the way to the plate even after rolling.
  15. So Pierre pretty much single-handedly lost that game for us.
  16. I'm pretty much not phased by any of this anymore.
  17. No, he didn't, Walker didn't have his foot on the plate. Right. He had it on first. Yeah, ok. You know what I meant. His foot was not on the base. I knew his foot wasn't on the plate. Cubs players don't step on home plate. GOLD
  18. Miklos Rozsa = Awesome Agreed. We talked about him at length in my Film Theory class since my professor plays second violin in this orchestra. He just gushed over the man to a nearly-creepy extent. Still, Spellbound did have a terrific soundtrack. I took an independant study on Music in Film a couple of years ago and got to know a lot of really great soundtracks. Rozsa and Bernard Herman are 2 of my favorite composers now.
  19. Royals up 5-2 after a 4 run 9th inning rally.
  20. God knows he couldn't catch it with a glove, how's he gonna hit it with a bat?
