  1. This doesn't freak me out in the least. I'd be ok if Carp missed two or three starts, just so we could get a really solid idea of what Reyes can do against real NL lineups. If he's a known quantity, we know if we can afford to trade Mulder, or, if Reyes on his own can bring in a quality bat.
  2. I can't believe they are talking about an extension for Dusty.
  3. Booster Gold hates the Cardinals? I'm ok with that.
  4. Hey folks... Sorry to crash the party here, I was linked to your 'pujols is a coward' thread and thought i'd put my two cents in... (BTW...fun board, I plan to stick around...lots of good ball discussion, and the folks suffering from swamp fever -every board has em- are entertaining). So I'm a Cardinals fan that was born and raised in St. Louis and did all of my education and a two year residency at UMKC. 1. Pujols hasn't lied about his age. A few points on this: A. Cubbie Rich alluded to some rival high school having a beef. Not that I recall. All evidence suggests that he was cleared and vetted by the MHSAA like any other player. It was a select team that had a complaint, and that was dealt with. Why does he have to have his BC online to pacify Cubbie Rich? 2. Pujols has been tested for steroids THREE TIMES this year. 3. There is no test for HGH, but what evidence does anyone have that Pujols is on it? He's always been a big guy. Even in high school, he was pretty doughy. In the past few seasons, he's gotten bigger, for sure. Around his gut. Not exactly the side affect of performance enhancing drugs. 4. As a beneficiary of a PFF fundraiser (I work with special needs kids and our program got lots of memorabilia from albert and deidre) i'm glad he charges a high amount, THROUGH HIS OWN WEBSITE, for his autograph. The money goes to charity. You can still walk up to a fence in spring training, or around town, and get an autograph for free. I did. That's it. Looking forward to talkin baseball with some northsiders.
