  1. I think he'd easily be worth it for the first four years or so of the deal. There are lots and lots of max contract players in the NBA out there that are less deserving of the money.
  2. A night game on April 9? Better break out the ski pants.
  3. Not when it comes to NBA basketball for most of my lifetime. :D Certainly makes the rivalries a lot more intense.
  4. First year in a very competitive conference for DePaul. I think it'll only help in the long run.
  5. When the teams are close in terms of talent, Pistons. Knicks are up there, too. Bouncing the Knicks out of the playoffs was a Chicago Spring tradition not too long ago. Cavs too, for that matter. :D
  6. People who don't like this tournament sure pay a lot of attention to it. With both Cuba and Japan on board, I'm really looking forward to it.
  7. Team names in Japan generally make reference to the corporation that owns them. In this case, the Fighters are owned by Nippon Ham.
  8. Yep, and I'd make a hard push form him. I won't blame Paxon if he decides to stay in Detroit, though.
  9. Paxon fleeced Isiah in the Curry trade. Who do you suggest they sign? The 2006 free agent class is dismal. I expect the Bulls to make a run at Nene Hilario. Not an impact player really, but he'd add some much needed size and athleticism to the front line.
  10. TMac attack, and Howard fouled Hinrich at the top of the key on that last play.
  11. Thanks. Not much of a home team discount. I like the Bulls chances to sign Wallace even more.
  12. Lots of guys say that -- that they'll take less money to stay -- few do. Wallace might be one of those guys. I'd give him every opportunity to change his mind. Besides, Tayshaun Prince is a restricted free agent this summer. Dumars might not be able to afford both. Not a lot of guys out there after Wallace. I don't have any interest in Peja and I hope Paxson doesn't either. If Wallace signs with the Pistons, that's when you try to pull off the big trade.
  13. Boston might take Gordon for Pierce -- if the Bulls included Deng. No thanks, and I doubt Ben's going anywhere. I'm assuming Thomas goes too? I still think Gordon, Thomas, number one pick gets it done. I don't see Paxson going that route at all. $14M in cap space, Gordon and a lottery pick is a lot to give up. Keep your young talent, go as hard as you can after Ben Wallace, and draft a stud PF with the Knicks pick.
  14. Boston might take Gordon for Pierce -- if the Bulls included Deng. No thanks, and I doubt Ben's going anywhere.
  15. The Raptors have been playing pretty well of late, including a road victory at Indiana. I suspect Skiles is thrilled with the W. Great to see the Hinrich-Gordon back-court excel again, too.
  16. Taking the era he pitched in into account? Yes. Gotta take the big train over the rocket based on stats alone, though.
  17. Only took Skiles two months to figure out that Deng and Gordon belong in the starting lineup. :D

Start a Pats train thread so I can lock it.

    Wildcard Weekend

I'm in. I've been on the sick-of-New-England bandwagon since last year's Superbowl.
  20. It's still winter break, that's why Assembly wasn't as loud IMO. Musberger is a human wasteland. Musburger sucks. AH just isn't that loud. Compared to the old chicago stadium at least. I was listening to the Illinois vs Arizona game from last year. The ILL-INI during one of the timeouts was amazing. It was crystal clear and so loud. Man, I wish I was at that game. That was at the United Center? I don't think I would have survived being there. Illinois vs Arizona was at Allstate Arena.
  21. I've attended 40+ games a season since the 2000 season and the only place in the park where I've gotten this feeling is the CF bleachers. I have no idea how you'd even measure a person's "fan-ness", but Wrigley crowds are almost always loud and they react to the game. I think you're perpetuating a tired and inaccurate stereotype.

Brewer's a combo guard so he could play point and leave the shooting to Gordon. If they draft a 2, I think his ability to drive to the basket and finish is paramount. The Bulls are way too dependant on jump shots at the moment. Ager could be a nice fit if they draft a PF with their first pick.

If forced to pick, I'd rather keep Deng as well, and I think he's a better player than Ben right now. But I'd rather keep both of them and I hope both remain in the Bulls' long term plans. Like Morrison, I don't think either one is particularly suited to play the 2 in the NBA, which is why I hope the Bulls draft Ronnie Brewer with their likely high lottery pick. Brewer is almost as big as Morrison, he's much quicker, and he has the handle to play some point. Adding a 6-7 player at the 1 would make it much easier for the Bulls to play Gordon or Hinrich at the 2. I think both Gay and Morrison are solid talents, but neither one is head and shoulders better than the other top five talents in this draft, and I don't see small forward as a need for the Bulls with Deng and Noch on the roster.

I think the success rate is about the same as those with college experience. Oden could very well not turn into a superstar, but I don't think it'll be due to a lack of college ball experience.
  25. 1908

Just about all the starting 2-guards in the league are shorter and quicker than Morrison. :D He might be able to handle it, but I think he's much better suited to the 3. He's a top three talent in this draft, no doubt. But I think Aldrige has a similar upside and would be a better fit for the Bulls. Yeah, not much C talent available in this year's draft. It's a pretty deep one for power forwards, though.
