  1. I try not to be an alarmist, but I am concerned about Lester's stuff. I guess it was better today, but the ball looks "dead" when he throws it.
  2. I adore the 84' team as much as anyone, but to call Cey a "Cubs legend" requires a leap even I am not willing to make. Unless by "legend" they mean "legendarily awkward when running the bases".
  3. yes, very true isn't that representative of the internet as a whole? Could be. I dunno enough about some of the "popular" sites. If anything its a reflection of a society as whole. George Carlin (one of my intellectual heroes) pointed this out a long time ago: as a society we need to lighten up. In other words, sit back and enjoy and the show and stop worrying about little stuff.
  4. It is a specific type of sports outrage porn though. they used to take shots at everybody in the sports world but have since shifted to a very narrow focus on criticizing the suits in the game and only going after athletes who commit violent crime. It has become more jock sniffy in recent years. Yes, its become more preachy then sort of evenhandedly observant. Not sure what you mean by preachy. some people criticize it for its progressive tendencies, but that is not what I am talking about. Indignant about most of the stuff they cover. They used to have more of a sense of humor.
  5. LOL - the press and meatballs are going to latch onto that play...

  7. I posted this in the comments section of the Deadspin article:
  8. I was wondering whether they are related.
  9. Richards, Versteeg, Oduya, Sharp, Vermette, and Roszival (thank god) are very likely gone. I'd say Bickell - between his contract and the fact that he is valuable in the playoffs (he de-skated several guys the other night) - has a good shot at still being here. Bowman is probably a top 10 GM based on the challenges of keeping the core together combined with his ability to bring in useful young pieces. He may be looking for a new coach after this season.

  11. Would love to trade Forte at age 30 and with all that mileage to get a potential superstar QB. That would be a steal. 7 is way too early for Perriman, IMO. If he is the target then just trade down into the 20's.
  12. He'd have to be Juan Pierre bad to negate a .800+ OPS, no?
  13. That's pretty much a dream for the Steelers, IMO.
  14. Here's a perfect description of me Six foot one, and dark and lovely And if they're sayin black is beautiful, it's true not phony I'm brown-er than Bobby so won't you be my tender Roni? http://wernervonwallenrod.com/kane/kane4.gif
  15. Good point and it makes me feel better.

  17. Yeah, it stinks, but its less important than the fact that his arm appears to be 33% of what it normally is.
  18. I hear Soler be Havana big one.
  19. And someone better buy Craw a steak after this one.
  20. Jesus Harold Christ - Roszival is AWFUL

  22. I really enjoyed oblivious Badger fans bitching about this guy like he was a nobody. Granted he wasn't a major storyline going into the game but he was a top 25 recruit and McDonald's AA. To them he was like Andrew Dakich coming in and dominating. To be fair, most people aren't degenerates that follow college basketball recruiting. http://33.media.tumblr.com/1680198cc6de4fbdd756a5b10dfaefa3/tumblr_mhos4fAyxJ1s008m3o1_500.gif
