  1. Remember what I said yesterday about getting Versteeg off of Kane's line? Looks like other's noticed that too; from Committed Indian:
  2. To be honest I don't know that Bruno is even in our second tier as he is 24 and repeating AA, but he has hit at every level, plays three IF positions, and is off to a great start this season (.355/.412/.452). His example has me interested in where our second-tier guys fit-in (and what their ML ceilings might be) given the number of high-end young position players we have. In other systems - even those in the top 15 - guys like him might get more pub. Not sure if we really have a thread dedicated to that kind of discussion, so I thought we could update this one with news about those guys (i.e., Bruno, Villanueva, Zagunus, Brockmeyer, Chesney Young, Charcer Burks, etc.) and opinions on their development. I'll kick it off by asking what we think about Mr. Bruno: he's hit well each year and at each level and plays 2B, SS, and 3B. Is he repeating AA because he wouldn't get playing time at AAA (Baez, 'Mendy, etc.)? Could he be playing a utility role at the ML level in 2016 or 17? Does he have trade value as such?
  3. Dude has been a beast so far.
  4. I passed out during the beginning of OT, woke up at the end of the second OT, briefly saw "2-2", and thought that we lost and it was a reference to the status of the series over all. Glad I had that wrong.
  5. I actually really like Schlitter's stuff - he just has zero control over it. Sort of defeats the purpose.
  6. Bring em all back, especially Meph. I want to ask him about JR Towles.
  7. That schedule is brutal. At San Diego on Monday, at St Louis 6 days later, then home vs Denver, and at GB 4 days later on Thanksgiving... If they aren't out of it by Week 9 they soon will be.
  8. Have to give the Preds credit - their fwds do a great job defensively.
  9. Shot differential in this series is disturbing
  10. Someone needs to punch Fiala in the nuts.
  11. Still are. Darling is bailing them out.
  12. Yup - they were asleep.
  13. Currently on pace for 99.7 wins.
  14. FREE TO ALL Seriously, when was the last time baseball was fun for us?
  15. on the other hand, Braun will generally hit more than one xbh a month, too. True. And Lucroy would have too, had he had not been injured. But nothing will save that staff.
  16. Their pitching staff could end being bad on a historic scale. Gomez is hurt. Adam Lind won't be able to maintain a .900 OPS. They will be lucky to win 60 games.
  17. Except that Kane has to carry Versteeg's water in their own zone...crazy at that sounds. I'd be tempted to flip Shaw and Versteeg, but I get why they won't. Also, Desjardins has been fantastic.
  18. What's really scary for the rest of the league is that Baez is still lurking and Schwarber et al. aren't far behind. If these guys just hit 10-15% above their projected floors you will almost unquestionably have the most dominant lineup of this generation.
  19. Ohhhhhhhh myyyyyyyyyyyyyy.... I was about to post that 'Mendy isn't very good and needs to be sent down...and I get this gorgeous news instead.
  20. http://www.stonerdays.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/stonerdays-memes-6.jpg
  21. Dear God why?
  22. Yeah, I'd almost rather see Jaxon in that spot
  23. i thought his stuff looked great until the sixth I thought it looked flat relative to his best, but it was better than his last two starts and maybe he just needs to warm up. I'm prob more concerned than I should be.
