  1. I think it says a lot about what they think of Carey, and Rodgers on a one-year deal isn't guaranteed a roster spot. I probably would have looked for defensive backfield help here, but doing that in the 5th and/or 6th is fine also.
  2. I'm all for killing Kaplan, but Forte could have done a better job handling the Piccolo award ceremony thing.
  3. Allow me to expand and/or clarify what I thought was clear: - I didn't say Q is getting fired because he didn't play Vermette. There's more to it than that. My guess is that it frustrates Bowman that he spent a 1st Rnd pick plus Dahlback to get Vermette and Q benched him in the playoffs. I'd also guess that Q's consistent and stubborn refusal to utilize the organization's young depth also frustrates Bowman. - Depending on the cap number, Sharp could very well be traded and Oduya is unlikely to be retained. - The third pairing has stunk and needs to be addressed. - EDIT: His line combos leave me completely perplexed much of the time. Why is Kane on a line with Versteeg, for example? It took him 4 games in the Preds series to realize thats a very bad idea. - Bickell and Shaw have value as trade bait, but I agree its not as likely they will be moved. I'd prefer not to lose either of them.
  4. This is what I have been saying since the end of last season: http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey I think the way Q gives out ice time - especially on the 3rd line and pairing - has Bowman miffed. Stan is trying to maintain organizational depth through the draft (the right way, IMO) and Q has a very hard time trusting anyone young. Then he goes out gives up a number 1 to acquire a solid veteran who is at worst a spectacular addition to the 3rd line, and Q moves him around a ton before humiliatingly benching him during the first couple of games of the 1st Round. Sort of reminds me of the guy who coaches another team in the same building, except that Q has two Cups, which in my mind gives him more rope, but not sure Stan feels the same. Big changes are potentially afoot this offseason (Sharp, the entire 3rd pairing, Oduya, Richards, and potentially Bickell or Shaw). Q might just excuse himself from the situation.
  5. From DraftTek: Randy Gregory Rank 17 Landon Collins Rank 19 TJ Clemmings Rank 20 Eric Kendricks Rank 21 Owamagbe Odighizuwa Rank 22 Jalen Collins Rank 27 Eddie Goldman Rank 29 Jake Fisher Rank 30 Eli Harold Rank 31 Jaelen Strong Rank 32 I'd love for them to somehow pick up a second 2nd Rnd pick and grab Gregory and Jalen Collins. Although some people think Gregory is going to fall to into the 4th or 5th round...
  6. Just read on SBNation that Kevin White is telling people the Bears will take him if he is there at 7.
  7. I'm thinking he'd get beat-up pretty badly by the big OL's, but I could be wrong.
  8. Latest DraftTek mock for Bears: 1. Amari Cooper 2. Landon Collins 3. Xavier Cooper (DE - Washington) 4. Markus Golden (OLB - Mizzou) 5. Durrell Eskridge (FS - 'Cuse) 6. LaDarius Gunter (CB - Miami) I know little about the last two, but if the first four somehow shake out like that its damn near a dream.
  9. Were I the Titans, thats what I would want everyone believing. Time to drive up the price.
  10. Guys like Suter and Pominville seem to consistently cause us trouble, and that's before you even talk about Parise, Vanek, Dumba, Coyle, and Koivu, all of whom are very good. They are more talented than St Louis offensively, IMO.
  11. Probably the most underrated player in the game
  12. Agreed - the Wild are scary for a team that only plays defense when it feels like it.
  13. I don't blame the Cavs for retaliating. Olynyk unquestionably yanked Love's arm purposefully. I doubt he thought he'd pull it out of the socket, but it was a dirty move: http://larrybrownsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/kevin-love-kelly-olynyk.jpg

  15. Hollandsworth mentioned that going from park to park as a rookie will be difficult on most guys (Bryant types being the rare exception) and that its hard to focus and get used to the site lines. Interesting thought.
  16. that is some really poor phrasing I know better than to try and post using my phone
  17. Here's hoping he comes out swinging is back here soon.
  18. Its unusual, but not crazy to think that: 1. The preverbal bulb has turned on; and 2. Talent evaluators are fallible.
  19. The only reason I can think of for him not to be at AAA is playing time.
  20. Those threads were classic
  21. I was also really happy to see Vermette out there and playing well. Maybe he is back in the circle of trust.
  22. They mentioned that too. Put Teuvo on the Sharp line.
  23. Also this from the same site, which I am not as sure about: Seems to me that Darling directs his rebounds into low-scoring areas for the most part. Sure there have been several in front of the net, but if you face 50 shots that's bound to happen.
