  1. Tony Clark has voodoo dolls in the likenesses of Maddon, Hoyer, and Epstein.
  2. Seriously, you'd think that this union - what with its fully-guaranteed contracts and pension/healthcare benefits - would shut up and not attempt to publicly shame owners whose ass's they have collectively kicked since the collusion cases popped in the mid-80's. I get why Boras would do it, which makes me wonder if he has pics of Tony Clark snorting coke with transexual capitalist hookers.
  3. So go ahead and address it when the CBA expires, but shut your yap until then. Throwing shade at the Cubs via freaking social media does literally nothing to enhance your bargaining position, and the Cubs' decision kept one of your dues paying members employed at the ML level for an extra couple of weeks.
  4. get himself traded for cole hamels http://99gifs.com/-img/51a885adafa96f3e8b000e1d.gif?w=400&h=224

  6. They have enough needs they can't get tunnel vision and say "get a CB before round 4". Just grab the best value/fit each round at any position, even if you double up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That assumes that all positional talent (in terms of where they are selected) is equal. I don't think that is the case.
  7. Latest NFL Draft Tek - does not account for Gregory testing positive for Mary Jane (it was posted yesterday morning) - has Bears taking: 1. Cooper 2. Jordan Phillips (DT - Oklahoma) 3. Chris Hackett (FS - TCU) 4. Byron Jones (CB - UConn) 5. Cedric Reed (OLB - Texas) 6. BJ Dubose (DE - L'ville) At this point I 'd like to see them do something else with 5 and 6, preferably at OT and C, but there isn't much talent there in this draft. I'd also prefer looking for a CB earlier than Round 4. I like Alex Carter from Stanford, for example, in Round 2. That frees you up to go FS in Round 3 (Holliman from L'ville) and DT in Round 4 (Raisin's boy, Ellis McCarthy) . Considering all of the needs they still have, I think there is still a shot they move down in the 1st Round (New Orleans at 13? Carolina at 25? Baltimore at 26?), grab Shelton (13), Brown or Goldman (25-26) and add a second 2nd Round pick.

  9. Also, Sandberg in Alabama makes no sense whatsoever. Namath's Alabama jersey or Bo Jackson's Auburn jersey I'd believe...or is this pro's only?
  10. I read this last night and I think there are some shenanigans going on here. There is no way Vince Carter outsells Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, or The Chief in NH. There are thousands of people living in southeastern NH who commute to Boston. They are very much New Englanders and are highly patriotic. No way a Canadian team outsells their Celtics.

  12. I dont see how hiring Kyle Farnsworth will help Nicely done
  13. The best argument they have is with regard to the meaning of he word "expansion" in the context of their agreement with the franchise. The rest is bull----.
  14. He's smarter than the lot of them and doesn't seem to care what it costs him.
  15. Agreed - the officiating has been as close to horrendous as it gets. I usually don't notice the refs during the NCAA tourney. Also, check this out: http://deadspin.com/bob-hugginss-daughters-call-dez-wells-a-rapist-1693065370
  16. Bobby Portis is a beast, but he has the worst free throw shooting form in the history of basketball. Also, does Arkansas run a half court offense? They look they kind of just run around looking for open spots on the floor. Remind me of highly skilled playground team.
  17. E Wash is a good defensive and rebounding team, but they look scared on the offensive end. Its like they are waiting for a one of GTown's bigs to come and spike them. Meanwhile GTown is committing some dumb fouls and are getting badly out-hustled.
  18. Kentucky is so good. If you like basketball its really hard not to appreciate how well they play together.
  19. Agreed, saw a lot of that today.
  20. Aren't most calls reviewable under a minute? I'm assuming this wasn't? Apparently goal tend calls are not because they are based on individual judgment. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me inasmuch as any call is based on some level of individual judgment...but ok. PS: Thad Motta needs a shave. I think it's more a matter of "now what?" Who do you award possession too if you wave off a goaltend. UCLA was pretty clearly getting the loose ball, but do you go off of that when the whistle already blew? Do you go to the arrow? IIRC, you go with the arrow in a dead-ball situation like that.
  21. Just occurred to me... http://www.slate.com/content/dam/slate/archive/2011/03/1_123125_123037_2279927_2286745_110324_sn_coachvcu_tn.jpg.CROP.original-original.jpg http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/64423_4721.jpg NSFW

  24. That went through my mind as well. Ref who made the call was the outside official; maybe 25 feet away.
  25. I think I remember glancing at the bottom line as SMU was bringing it up on their last possession and saw that they had several (I think 4) timeouts left. Perhaps they were trying to catch UCLA off guard because it seemed like a lot of guys were expecting a replay. They still probably should have called a TO once they brought it up and UCLA was in position. For sure. Plus the kids were all going nuts over the goal tend call. Why not call TO and give them a chance to regain their composure?
