  1. Yeah, that angle makes it look like the ball was way off. The live shot did as well. The overhead shot made it look much, much closer.
  2. In other words, their argument is that the ball was wide of the rim to the right. For goaltending to be called on that sort of shot, the ball has to be in the cylinder (rim) or within the imaginary area above it. The tweeters are arguing that it was an air-ball and not in either of those areas. From the perspective they posted, they appear to be correct.
  3. SMU played a very, very dumb game down the stretch. They may have been screwed on the goal-tend call, but they set themselves up for it with a really, really bad turnover, and that kid needed to be smarter about keeping his hand below the cylinder. And did Brown have a timeout to use? UCLA is the most hate-able low seed I can recall.
  4. I have my own business at home, so that's fun. And for those of you who picked Iowa St.... They don't rebound or defend well. That is poison in March. Meanwhile, Alford's kid is trying to make people forget that he shouldn't be playing on scholarship at UCLA. He now has 8 threes and hasn't missed since the 1st half.
  5. I'm still trying to figure why you guys ever listen to sports talk radio. I mean, maybe just to laugh for 10 minutes, but then don't your ears start to bleed...at least figuratively?
  6. Wow. That's actually a pretty big deal.
  7. Assuming you are fully informed of the risks, it becomes a personal choice. This notion that people should be influenced or governed somehow by the fact that there are other risky jobs is nonsense.
  8. I think Ufford was a little presumptuous to assume the military angle. The fact is there are much more dangerous jobs with much less compensation. I don't see what is so stupid about pointing it out. The media hysteria over concussions has gone a little overboard, but at the same time the water carrying of the NFL by Florio, Schefter, King and others have been gross. That was my point as well. It looked to me like Ufford was baiting him or putting words in his mouth.
  9. What good is money if you are too dead or mentally ill to enjoy it
  10. That whole conversation was misguided - both sides.
  11. I certainly don't recall this many high-profile players departing for health reasons in the same offseason. Might be an outlier - we will see.

  13. Amirite?
  14. I feel like is the most top-heavy bracket in years and we will see fewer upsets than in the past. That said, I agree with SFA and EWU (G-Town is the only Big East team I don't trust), and am not sure about Wofford (Arkansas is crazy athletic and their press drives people crazy). I'm also looking at these guys: Davidson (1st round only) Mich St (I know they are deeply flawed, but i can't see Izzo losing to a meh GA team; UVA might be a different story) Providence Wichita St Buffalo (1st round only) EDIT: considering GA State too.
  15. Bryant for Trout, then we don't have to worry.
  16. Raftery is in rough shape.
  17. I'd say the only one of those that was a big miss was Boise. You can't kick yourself for being logical when the committee was so biased towards the big conference teams this year.
  18. Hi Scott Barnes - you claim you have your own formula....then how come your brackets are pretty much entirely based on Ken Pomeroy’s rankings? http://kenpom.com He basically just said that Temple was the last team out.

  20. Indiana and Texas - both of whom were on the bubble - in the same region.
  21. Wow, not only are IU and Texas both in, they are in the same region.
  22. Draft Tek update - http://www.drafttek.com/2015-NFL-Mock-Draft-Round1.asp Bears get Cooper and Carl Davis in first two rounds.
  23. Lunardi update: 1's: UK, Duke, Wisconsin, 'Nova 2's: Virginia (I don't understand how Duke is a 1 and UVA is not), KU, Gonzaga, Arizona 3's: Iowa St, Oklahoma, Maryland, Notre Dame 4's: UNC, L'ville, Baylor, UNI Pomeroy: 1. UK 2. Arizona 3. Wisconsin 4 UVA 5. 'Nova 6. Gonzaga 7. Duke 8. Utah 9. Oklahoma 10. Notre Dame 11. Kansas 12. UNI 13. Iowa St 14. Wichita St 15. Baylor 16. UNC 17. Mich St 18. L'ville 19. Texas 20. 24. Lunardi has ND as a 3 (MidWest) and UNC as a 4 (East) as of this morning. 1's are UK, Nova, Duke and UVA. 2's are KU, Gonzaga, Wisconsin and Arizona. 3's are ND, Maryland, Iowa St and Oklahoma. 4's are UNC, No. Iowa, Baylor and L'ville. I would think UNC has a shot to bump Oklahoma if they win, but we'll see.
