  1. Nicely done. Nabbing McPhee, Wiz, and Knighton would be a very nice start to this offseason. Particularly if they grab Knighton, I am hoping they will go completely BPA at no. 7. Hopefully Cooper or White will be there; I'm guessing the former. But if not, I would love to see Gregory somehow fall to us. I genuinely see him as a Suggs kind of guy in the 3-4.
  2. W'oh....lets not make things worse here...
  3. We've also been linked to McCourty, Culliver, Searcy, etc. And also supposedly looking at every pass rusher. In other words, there's nothing to worry about. Yeah, Aaron Lemming (who broke the Marshall trade), tweeted "Based on what I've heard, I'd be surprised if the Bears didn't sign one of the top FA safeties. Name I've heard most is Da'Norris Searcy from Buffalo". It's also been mentioned that the Bears have been making contact with FA defensive ends. They were mentioned with 2 4-3 teams, meaning likely after edge rushers. In particular, I've heard them linked to Jerry Hughes. Also, read they in play for Byron Maxwell, but expect to be outbid...fallback options are the 2 CBs from SF and Davon House. I did read that they're out on Suh though, and it's down to Miami or Detroit. Signing Searcy and Hughes would be awesome.
  4. This is going to be the most fascinating Bears offseason of my lifetime. They are switching defensive formations for the first time in more than 10 years, arguably for the first time since Buddy Ryan left. They traded a commodity (Marshall) who they would have literally killed for as recently as 4 years ago and pretty much every year prior. There's a lot more to come.
  5. Thats sort of typical of the NY media during a GM's honeymoon phase. The media giveth...and go [expletive] yourself.
  6. I'd be happy if they replace him with Maclin.
  7. Just a thought - are we planning to draft White or Cooper at 7?
  8. Yeah, we had very little leverage.
  9. Only a 5th? I guess I figured we'd at least get two late-round picks for him. Maybe he really is that much of an a-hole in the locker room? And we are bringing back Clausen...maybe that means Cutler is staying?
  10. Lets just bring Schwarber up already. Kid does nothing but rake. Let him play short center for all I care.
  11. Imagine if we traded Marshall for a 2nd and then went out and signed Julius Thomas and Hartline. Then you have Jeffrey-Hartline-Wilson-Bennet-Thomas-Forte. Won't happen, but it would be fun to watch.
  12. Wow. NFL trades like this is soooooo rare, that you have to love it when it happens. I like the deal for Philly. They really need to improve their D, already have Sproles and and can draft someone or sign Spiller away from Buffalo, which would be a great fit. I dunno how McCoy really helps Buffalo. What difference will he really make when its EJ Manual behind center?
  13. Great article about Vlad, one of my fave players ever. Gives me some hope for Javi: http://deadspin.com/vladimir-guerrero-had-hubris-and-he-had-balls-1689124654
  14. http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2015/03/03/worcester-native-bryan-lahair-happy-for-another-shot-majors/BywKzUy2EVnnUGOoxQfZeP/story.html If you run into the paywall, try googling the headline "Worcester native Bryan LaHair happy for another shot at majors" He made $5.2 million over two seasons in Japan? Good lord...every AAAA player should go there. Yeah, I've never understood why more of those guys don't go. I realize its a major change in culture and lifestyle, but you can set yourself up for life in two or three years and then go back to MLB if you are just dying to ride a bus around the Southern League.
  15. If he just wins at the dot I am fine. He didn't do much of that last night.
  16. Goal line problems solved if we had signed this guy: http://deadspin.com/rugby-league-superstar-jarryd-hayne-signs-futures-contr-1689071368 Check the comments sections for a highlight video. He's nasty.
  17. If Thibs doesn't run him into the ground first.
  18. Draft picks in NHL are not the same as those in the NFL. Just a thought.
  19. Mike Green? Sharp and Seabrook for Green and a 1st Rounder. Just kidding.
  20. Well he crushed by soul as a teenager in 1992 when they swept the Hawks during the SCF Likewise BTW, if they acquire Skinner and one of Petry or Yandle....well just watch the [expletive] out.
  21. yeah, I think most of the negativity is reasonable in light of Derrick's history.
  22. True, but in far fewer minutes. Will have to see whether increased exposure drags him down.
