  1. I guess we could go back and forth, on one hand said scary pitcher can't pitch every inning. He can pitch multiple times in a series to great effect. On the other, scary line up plays every inning and gets many more chances than scary pitcher. Then, there's the randomness of playoff baseball, who knows, maybe Cubs' pitching staff catches lightning in a bottle and shuts everyone down while their line up does just enough to win. Or Skubal, after a long season and a plethora of innings, tires a little and gets crushed.
  2. That's all it takes, because of the Cubs' strength in their line up they do have some margin for error. Tigers don't have that, Dodgers certainly do, Padres, Mets, Phillies and should they make it, the Diamondbacks, as well.
  3. It'd be real nice if the Cubs could return the favor to them by taking two of three. Last time the Phillies came in having lost four in row before righting the ship vs Cubs. Is Harper out? If so, I like the Cubs chances to win the series.
  4. Agree on Flaherty, don't know if I'm sold on Kahnle, he's been fantastic over 27+ innings, maybe over performing a bit. There's a real good chance he regresses over the next 20 or so innings.
  5. They do deserve credit for playing well. Other than Skubal there's nothing scary about them, very beatable should the Cubs meet them again.
  6. Just the way the series went, every bounce and anything fortuitous that could have happen for Tigers did.
  7. BS, Tigers are not significantly better, if they're better at all, Cubs, with any amount of luck, could have just as easily taken two of three. They're were several plays made by Tigers they don't make again.
  8. Maybe, be awfully horsefeathers nice if Happ and Tucker show up.
  9. Yeah, it's got be an automated system to remove the HP umpires from the equation, let them remain to call the system results. And tag plays at home, other non-strike calling efforts, etc.
  10. I don't see how just two challenges is going to effect anything, as you said, they'll still be a horsefeathers-ton bad calls.
  11. How many of those 11 K's weren't legit? At least 4, You can't say the umpiring didn't take away any momentum or effect any chances for the Cubs. It most definitely cost the Cubs runs.
  12. Maybe, probably, I'm just pissed listening to Tigers dipshit announcers plus the Cubs losing two of three. Tigers seem like the type of team that'll have a great regular season but, will go down in the post season because they don't have big bat in the lineup. Sure Skubal will great but, some playoff team will shut them down in non-Skubal games and win the series.
  13. I never expect anything positive to result from a Brujan at bat. Pleasantly surprised when something positive does happen.
  14. Plus an incredible number of obvious bad calls going their way. Should they meet again, and I really hope they do, I like the Cubs chances.
  15. I'll say this when the Tigers see the Cubs in the WS, all the bounces, bad calls aren't going they're way again, this is a one time occurrence, lap it up. At least baseball greatest team, the Cardinals, are down 4 as well.
  16. Another obvious ball called a strike for the Tigers. Why the horsefeathers can't the Cubs take advantage of this joke of strike zone or is Horton incapable of hitting those spots today.
  17. Misses again to Greene plus bad pitch selection, my patience with Horton is beginning to wear a little. Is he going to be type of guy with great stuff but, you can count on multiple mistakes thereby, giving you a chance every time he pitches?
  18. horsefeathers Tiger' announcers I have to endure - "...that's how you get out a jam..." no, that's officiating having a impact on the results. Effective officiating should not have an impact either way.
  19. Happ' hand was definitely in before the tag, I don't think they determine if it was touching the plate. Tigers are solid defensively but they're pulling a lot of horsefeathers out their collective asses this series.
  20. I watched him a few times, sometimes he's like Ben Brown, cruising along, then he'll lose it.
  21. It was the horsefeathers BB to Torres that was key, no reason to pitch him like he's Judge or someone of that ilk. Just go after him.
  22. That's going to fly long term, he's got start missing the middle of the plate.
