  1. I just going assume the worst, an IL stint, because, when haven't these resulted in a ****** outcome?
  2. I don't think it was about bad pitch selection, it poor execution by Palencia, had he not hung that slider Hill probably strikes out. I also believe a high fastball would have struck Hill out as well.
  3. Cubs will break out tomorrow and pick another game on the pissbirds.
  4. Yeah it was, bad location, fortunately PCA came up big.
  5. Honestly, I was waiting for Brown to lose it, to his credit, he remained dialed in, the potential to get better is there. I know the starting pitching is a concern nevertheless, guys like Brown and Horton have the potential to get better coupled with 3 other solid guys does offer some hope.
  6. Excellent, love the last out was Fraley and he looked like the feeble hitter is in the midst of striking out!
  7. We're getting slumping, automatic out Swanson now, hopefully, not too long. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's for several games.
  8. I've been a Brown naysayer, then I see what he can do with his breaking stuff and think he can improve. He's not a Rea, who just flat out sucks, Brown has a higher ceiling.
  9. I think you hit the head, there's nothing special about his stuff, it's how he throws that's special. He struck out Swanson on a hanging slider, every Tucker at bat he hung something over the plate, there were several other meatballs to other hitters. Yet, they couldn't pick them up, last time out the Cubs were seeing the ball well out of his hand hence, them crushing the ball, this time they weren't seeing the ball well.
  10. Pissbirds got their asses kicked today 11-1, very good.
  11. To earlier suggestion that Abbott was good today - every Tucker at bat he got a meatball, popped up two of them, smoked one of them but it was on the ground resulting in a DP. He was more lucky than good, it's baseball it happens.
  12. Same here, win 2 of 3 and everything will be alright. Tomorrow is key, they get that one, I think they'll beat Martinez on Sunday. Although he's the type of guy that has been giving them fits - soft tosser, keeps the ball down, lives on the corners, he's a better version of Rea - I like the Cubs chances.
  13. I know you're correct, I do believe most of us would start Busch.
  14. Like many have said Rea is terrible and the Cubs have gotten what could out of him as a starter. He's really the weak link in the current rotation, Brown, at least, has the potential to get better. Horton will probably improve, Boyd, Shota and Tallion are solid, Rea just flat out sucks. One upper tier MOR or TOR is what's needed at TDL.
  15. Busch should start tomorrow, Lodolo has reverse splits is getting hit harder by LHB'ers. Someone tell Craig.
  16. Don't believe ball placement was a problem in college, I think it'll get better.
  17. Neither am I, primary worry is the starting pitching, bullpen has been solid and will not be the problem.
  18. At least they made those horsefeatherss sweat a little and got into the bullpen.
  19. I don't know an awful lot of those pitches where right in the middle of the plate, he wasn't painting the corners. I think the Cubs have more problems with soft tossers.
  20. I hope Wicks is ready for the next Reds series, if the Cubs could line up Shota, Boyd and Wicks I like their chances.
  21. Not going to happen today, they're missing meatballs can't do anything with them.
  22. JD wasn't kidding about the Reds vs LHP they're just feeble. A strike throwing Cabrera isn't bad, would love to see him carve up the horsefeathers Fraley.
  23. There's another one, hanging slider or change up right down the middle, Tucker pops it up.
  24. See how many more meatballs they swing through, pop up, etc. But, it'd be nice if the Cubs could make them sweat a bit maybe, get the tying run to the plate.
  25. Fraley crap ass hitter except against the Cubs, don't mind Reds better hitters doing damage. Garbage like Fraley is annoying as hell.
