  1. Skubal not withstanding, I think people are forgetting the Cubs have the best hitter on the field tonight and in the series - Kyle Tucker.
  2. Probably won't get this one tonight, didn't expect to, I really like the Cubs chances on Saturday and Sunday.
  3. Brown' got the stuff, biggest issue is location, when he's dialed in, hitting his spots, he's as effective as anyone.
  4. If that third pitch is a strike so were the first two.
  5. At least PCA and Kelly made some hard contact both 99+ EV's.
  6. Burnes done for 2025 with TJS, I just wouldn’t give up the farm for a pitcher no matter who he is, Gore, Skenes even Skubal. Too risky, seems they’re all destined for TJS, especially the hard throwers who generate lots of spin.
  7. I felt the same, just seemed that whatever needed to happen for the Cubs to win did.
  8. Reminds me a of the run the Heat went on in 2023 big difference is the Pacers are actually a good team. Think they've a legitimate chance to win the Finals. Believe many knew the magic would eventually run out for the Heat facing yet another superior opponent in the Finals.
  9. While not a restaurant, there's Eastern Market Brewing Company which allows carry-in and deliveries.
  10. In glancing at his game logs one could say he hasn't a clunker this year, last one was in August. So, while not likely, he's due, why not tonight? Realistically though, I'd say the chances for a clunker, if it happens at all, are far greater towards the end of the season than tonight.
  11. So you're saying there's a chance? The only hope is the Cubs working the count getting his PC up, getting to the Tigers' bullpen. But, Sukbal has issued only 7 BB's - that's horsefeathers amazing - thus far this season so, maybe, lots of fouling off pitches anything to get the PC up.
  12. Extraordinarily tough pitching, I'm not even going to call match-up, mis-match, what does give me some hope is Tigers' bullpen is vulnerable. Plus, their lineup can be held down, it's not as solid as the Cubs lineup and no where near as good as the Dodgers, Padres or Diamondbacks lineups. I don't expect the Cubs to win this game, I do like their chances for the remainder of the series.
  13. Ya, think? 4-5 would pretty damn impressive, even more so when you consider they'll be facing - Wheeler, Luzardo, Skubal, Rodon and Fried - have not looked at opponents rotations. However, when have the Cubs missed the opponents top starters? Seems like never, I know it's happened but, horsefeathers, if the Cubs don't, for example, face Skenes every horsefeathers time they play the Pirates.
  14. Fortunately it was at someone and bonus, Rea got threw the best part of their lineup scoreless.
  15. Hopefully Tucker back in the line up, Cubs will win today.
  16. Brewers must have seen the ball pretty well from Abbott today, that's key, if a team can pick up the ball, there's real good chance Abbott gets pounded. Deception, while not the total on Abbott, does play a very large part in his effectiveness.
  17. Guys such Gore and Skenes would have super high price tags, maybe, even higher with Skenes. I want Jed to be aggressive - Alcantara, etc. - but, Gore and Skenes would cost too much and, being pitchers, are very risky.
  18. Happ, Hoerner, Kelly (1 AB), Suzuki, Swanson and Tucker all with big numbers vs. Gore maybe, this match up is a little more favorable than we think. They'll get to Gore enough to force the Nationals to go to their bullpen.
  19. Thought someone mentioned they'll miss Wheeler I hope so, Gore, Skubal, Luzardo very diificult, I think they'll handle Flaherty.
  20. And Skenes, Cubs seem to draw him for every Pirates series.
  21. Even though he took an o-fer, I was encouraged by Swanson' at bats, both SF's were hit hard - 97+ EV just got under them a bit. He's been in a little bit of funk, I think he's coming out of it and we'll see some big days from Dansby in the near future.
  22. Has really yet to do so on consistent basis hopefully, the mistakes will diminish in the near future.
