  1. The frustrating part is that's the best Hill could do with a hanging slider, there's no way in hell he would have done anything with a 96+ FB anywhere. Just terrible, terrible pitch selection and not realizing the only thing the batter had any chance on was off speed stuff.
  2. Is it time to give Little, Cosgrove, Roberts and hell, even Riley Martin looks? Just cannot continue with what they've got, might as well go with anyone to see what sticks.
  3. That Sanchez is prime example of the lifetime garbage that beats the Cubs, 3.1 WAR for his career. PCA has a WAR of 3 this year. Everybody else is able to get Sanchez out except, of course, our Cubs.
  4. I mind losing to the Marlins, if they're going to lose let it be because, a quality hitter, like Sowers or Norby has a big day or hit. Drives me nuts when not so good replacement level players like Otto Lopez and Javier Sanoja are some of the reasons why they lost. With the Marlins it's always the garbage that beats the Cubs.
  5. Really horsefeathers annoying how good Cubs teams find ways to lose to the Marlins with the likes of their crappy 2B and SS getting RBI's.
  6. He no intention of swinging either, had Palencia manage to throw strikes the Cubs would have won.
  7. Don't know why he just didn't go with 100+ plus to Hill and say here hit it, just a terrible call for a slider. The only pitch that clown could handle.
  8. Cubs will get to the Marlins bullpen, they're not a good team for a reason.
  9. I agree, it also a fact Mitch and Justin are both fatally flawed and no amount of offensive infrastructure or coaching is going to change that fact. The Bears didn't ruin them, didn't help them but, they didn't ruin them.
  10. Really? 2023 - #30, 37 and 39 Baseball America, MLB and Baseball Prospectus is it that much of a reach?
  11. As much as I loathe the White Sox. I also like some of the White Sox' young talent, think they did well in Crochet and Freede deals - Meidroth, Braden Montgomery, I'd trade Shaw for Vargas right now. Like all three of their starting pitchers over the weekend, the catcher, Quero, looks like a keeper as well, add Elko, they've got a base that could be good.
  12. Don't know what's more impressive the sweep or winning on Sunday. It's like the Cubs were baseball' version of the Bears. Although the Bears are 1-0 on Sunday in 2025.
  13. Guessing the Royals brought it home? If so, finally, nice those pissant Redbirds lost.
  14. Had the infield not been in that may have been a hit.
  15. The myth of Chicago is where QB's go to die is, just that, a myth. With Mitch and Justin the only things the Bears were guilty of is drafting QB's who don't have what it takes to consistently succeed in the NFL. The Bears didn't coach their flaws into them and they sure as horsefeathers couldn't coach them out. Just ask Steelers, with a proven coaching staff, why is Justin no longer their QB? Media keeps perpetuating this nonsense.
  16. I honestly would have let Ballesteros face the lefty, for the most part, there's no utility in giving that at-bat to Turner.
  17. Even with this clown of an umpire the Cubs drew 11 BB's not too bad.
  18. Automatic calls of balls and strikes can't get here fast enough.
  19. Swung at ball 4 - I think - guess I can't blame him with this umpire.
  20. Wow, not even close, guess that makes up for an miss on strike three earlier.
  21. Thought the Celtics had their circle the wagons game in Boston and were going to drop the series last night. By 38 points? Didn't see that coming. Pacers/Knicks should be fun.
