  1. No reason whatsoever to nibble against the likes of Otto Lopez.
  2. I think they'll be at that, there's a real shot in the NL for the Cubs. I still maintain the super team Dodgers are old and brittle, really don't think they'll be threat everyone thinks. Cubs are right there with the Mets, Phillies, Padres and Diamondbacks, could beat any of them, most especially with Hoyer, biting the bullet, and doing what it takes to acquire a true front line SP.
  3. Horton is going to have his first dominate start of his young career, Tucker and Shaw will continue to mash. Cubs pick up another game on the shitbirds.
  4. Really like Gore and Alcantara believe they'll be high cost meaning they're probably out of the picture for Hoyer. Williams, Heaney and Freeland are more in Hoyer' bargin bin wheelhouse, which sucks because a TOR starter would make the Cubs a serious threat in the post season.
  5. Dodgers pen has been struggling as well, something like 32 runs allowed over the last 36 IP, tons of gopher balls. Speaking of the Dodgers. Stayed up last night and caught the end of Diamondbacks-Dodgers, Diamondbacks lost in a most Cub-like way. First Moreno ties the game in the top of the 9th with a solo shot (nice to see this horsefeathers hits someone besides the Cubs), in the 10th, Carroll hits a two run shot. Bottom of the 10th, Shelby Miller making his 3rd, or was it, 4th consecutive appearance, facing Edman, who, hits a bloop double, it's 3-2, Ohtani is intentionally walked, Betts flies out, Freeman ends getting an IBB. Smith, in most Cub-like fashion, is hit by a pitch allowing the tying run to score, Muncy hits a SF to end the game Would have been nice to see the Dodgers lose their 5th consecutive game however, seeing the Diamondbacks lose in such a manner was a nice consolation prize.
  6. Tigers put away the shitbirds 5-4, going into the bottom of the 9th I thought here we go. Then I realized not every team has a bullpen like the Cubs.
  7. Nice answer to yesterday’s debacle plus they got the fearsome Derek Hill out!
  8. Despite the 2 run HR, Nootbar vs Skubal just isn’t fair, he had no chance that at bat
  9. Always the story with the Marlins facing the Cubs the scrubs turn into Aaron Judge.
  10. Need the bats to come up big hopefully, Tallion can hand the bullpen 3+ run lead.
  11. Don't think it's unreasonable to expect Tucker to catch that ball, wasn't a line drive, was up in the air long enough. Think he took a poor route to the ball, even the Marlins' announcer sounded surprised he didn't make the catch.
  12. There's no need to be cute with likes of Hill, Sanofa, Sanchez, etc. they suck, Hill' been waived twice, go after these fucks. Don't need any base runners ahead of the quality bats in Marlins' lineup - Norby, Sowers and Ramirez. Man, I'm still pissed about that Hill at bat, complete garbage, should have never happened.
  13. This and as stated above there's nothing much else to talk about.
  14. About time Tucker broke out of slump, don't know why but, I think Shaw is going to mash tonight. The Cubs will win and get that game back they lost, Cardinals are facing Skubal.
  15. My goodness the Chicago media and media at large continues to harp on the incompetence of the previous coaching staff. Yes, they were incompetent, how many horsefeathers times and how many horsefeathers people have state the obvious? And what the horsefeathers does that have to do with Ben Johnson?
  16. Exactly, I'm convinced anything 96+ gets him, dude is terrible, he barely put a hanging slider in play. How can't Amaya and Palencia not know this?
  17. The frustrating part is that's the best Hill could do with a hanging slider, there's no way in hell he would have done anything with a 96+ FB anywhere. Just terrible, terrible pitch selection and not realizing the only thing the batter had any chance on was off speed stuff.
  18. Is it time to give Little, Cosgrove, Roberts and hell, even Riley Martin looks? Just cannot continue with what they've got, might as well go with anyone to see what sticks.
  19. That Sanchez is prime example of the lifetime garbage that beats the Cubs, 3.1 WAR for his career. PCA has a WAR of 3 this year. Everybody else is able to get Sanchez out except, of course, our Cubs.
  20. I mind losing to the Marlins, if they're going to lose let it be because, a quality hitter, like Sowers or Norby has a big day or hit. Drives me nuts when not so good replacement level players like Otto Lopez and Javier Sanoja are some of the reasons why they lost. With the Marlins it's always the garbage that beats the Cubs.
  21. Really horsefeathers annoying how good Cubs teams find ways to lose to the Marlins with the likes of their crappy 2B and SS getting RBI's.
  22. He no intention of swinging either, had Palencia manage to throw strikes the Cubs would have won.
  23. Don't know why he just didn't go with 100+ plus to Hill and say here hit it, just a terrible call for a slider. The only pitch that clown could handle.
  24. Cubs will get to the Marlins bullpen, they're not a good team for a reason.
