  1. All Rea has to do is keep the Cubs in the game, doesn’t have to go 6-7 shutout innings. Just keep the score competitive and let the Cubs’ bats take over.
  2. By no means was I suggesting they’ve comparable numbers. Watched Alcantara last night, stuff is still there, consistency is an issue, he’s a guy whom the Cubs could. buy low. And he could turn it around in a better environment, he’s clearly frustrated and done with being a Marlin.
  3. I think its safe to assume an effective Merryweather has disappeared, time to pull the plug.
  4. Nope, cost would be too prohibitive. Believe someone such as Alcantara would be less expensive and give the Cubs what they need.
  5. Coaching? An example of good Cubs player development?
  6. Angels up 6-2 on the Marlins in the top of the 8th, Marlins have two on, 1 out, Angels bring in Neris - this is going to end well.
  7. Watching Marlins-Angels, Alcantara struggling again, throws an un-hittable pitch followed by a hanging slider. Think there's any chance the Cubs could steal him? I believe the stuff is still there and may be just the type of guy who could turn it around with a change of scenery most especially being traded to a contender. Alcantara also has the look of someone who's completely frustrated, done being a Marlin and would welcome a trade.
  8. It's completely off the charts, just unbelievable and best of all it's a Cub doing this remarkable stuff!!!!
  9. Anyone just see the Brewers-Pirates? Canario completely evades the tag at home plate and still called out, next batter Brewers throw a PB/WP and lose. Just love seeing bad things happen to the Brewers, partly out of jealously because, they been very good but, they've also had a horseshoe up their asses the past few years. Although not so much this year.
  10. Well they didn't torch Greene but, enough was done to have him done by the 4th. And they ended up torching the Reds! Just as aside, once again, all MLB can talk about is the Dodgers and Ohtani - https://www.mlb.com/ - not word about PCA who, just, ho hum, hit 2 dongs, with 6 RBI's, unfucking believable. OK, there's a video of PCA' GS but, the headliner is horsefeathers Ohtani.
  11. Any reason why Seiya looked at three soft pitches pretty much in the middle of the zone?
  12. I don't believe the Cubs are done scoring but, it'd be nice if the bullpen could limit the damage for the remainder of the game.
  13. Imanaga coming back will help, when he does, is it a terrible idea to keep Horton up and go with a 6 man rotation?
  14. Don't get that pitch sequence to Trevino, pitching to him like he's a good hitter or something. Boyd must be battle himself with location.
  15. Hoyer is going to make a trade for another starter I've no, doubt about this, the only question is will he pay the price for TOR-type or not, for a MOR-type?
  16. Cubs will get back in this game, not every soft fly and dribbler the Reds hit is going to fall.
  17. Although the Reds lineup is far from impressive can't afford to get to far behind. 64 EV doubles, dribbler GB's they're really crushing the ball.
  18. Don't know where to put this so, I guess I'll put it here: MLB Network - their idolization and worship at the altar of the Dodgers is disgusting.
  19. I remember hearing a two goal lead is the most dangerous lead in hockey. Still, up two goals, third period, you got to feel real good about coming away with a victory. Scoring so quickly into the third put the Oilers on their heels.
  20. Didn't have to be 100+ anything 95+ in the zone would have gotten him. The Cubs did him a favor by throwing a breaking ball. As you said live and learn.
  21. I agree not a good send at all, right now there's a real good chance Shaw would have been able to plate Busch.
  22. I believe the Orioles are a hell of lot better than their record and will give the Cardinals a tough time.
  23. Meant Contreras and yes, that would be quite a feat.
  24. Brewers tied it up, had Chourio not singled, appears Murphy was to going to pinch hit for Yelich with Contreras?
  25. You may be correct or at least, there's a pretty high probability of an extra inning loss. If this version of Shaw is what the Cubs will get for a while in addition to a hot Tucker and possibly heating up Seiya. I like the Cubs chances to score a lot of runs this weekend despite the pitching match ups.
