  1. Missed again over the middle, time and time again, he misses over the middle, guess it's going to take a few more starts for him finally locate.
  2. Think Jed will look for a LHP hitting specialist at the TDL? Is there a world where Turner is kept and better bat vs. LHP is brought to spot Busch at 1B?
  3. Watching the condensed game boy, was the HP umpire off, does anyone have his chart? I'll give him credit for admitting to the Cubs he got some wrong and will get better, nevertheless, the Tigers were the primary benefactors. Cubs did get few later in the game.
  4. Honestly, horsefeathers them both, ultimately, the Cubs are the better team and will win the Central. I'll give you it's annoying as horsefeathers because I don't believe either of those teams are that good, not bad, but, not 10-2 and 22-9 good.
  5. I'm certain Cade was watching talking to Jameson last night. Key is FB location, miss low, miss high, don't miss over the middle of the plate, if Cade hits his spots today he'll dominate. He has yet to consistently hit his spots maybe, today is the day for that to happen.
  6. Typically, being a nice and not holding people accountable doesn't work, in almost any endeavor, most especially sports. You play like you practice, if you goof around and horsefeathers up in practice that's going to carry over into play. We've seen many this times with Bears under Eberflus. You can still be a nice guy before and after practice, before and after the game, hell, you can probably be nice during practice or a game. It's the lack taking responsibility and holding you players accountable, that's the real killer.
  7. Say they make it as a WC and face the Dodgers how confident are you going to feel about trotting out Sonny Gray? Sure, the smoke and mirrors act worked Friday and for Fedde today, it's baseball it sometimes happens. Wouldn't count on it happening again. Think Freeman is going to keep coming up empty with runners on facing Gray? Think Ohtani is going to take another ineffective 1-4? And, by the way, the mighty Cardinals didn't do anything with Yamamoto, not his fault the Dodgers bullpen is doing their impersonation of the Cubs bullpen in April.
  8. If Horton can finally achieve some consistency in his FB location tomorrow the Cubs will win. I firmly believe they'll get to Flaherty for multiple runs, we're over due for a Tucker game.
  9. Buehler and I do not believe he would command a haul, well, at least, he shouldn't command a haul.
  10. Cubs lineup > Tigers lineup, this much is true, biggest difference is Skubal and, to lesser extent, when he returns, Jobe, and Mize. That's a pretty good 1-2-3 going into a playoff series. With Shota returning, if Jed can make a couple of moves and come close to approximating that of Tigers, it puts the Cubs, with their line up, over the top. If I were a Tigers fan I'd be concerned about the line up, true they have that dawg of ace in Skubal but, they don't have that dawg of a bat such as the Cubs have with Tucker. They're a big bat short which is probably easier to fix at TDL than being a pitcher short.
  11. The other day he hit rockets, just got under them a bit, thought a hot streak was in queue. Maybe today against a much, much lesser pitcher.
  12. Cubs will win today, get the game back on the pissbirds (Yamamoto).
  13. Is it odd to feel optimistic after a loss? Here's probably, the best team in baseball right now, with the best pitcher on the planet. To beat the Cubs it required them to play nearly perfect and if not, for some Cubs mistakes, the Tigers may have still lost. I'm optimistic the Cubs are truly a good team and will win the next two games.
  14. Two really solid outings for Brown one dominate, one really good, is this the first time all season Brown has been good back to back? A consistent Brown is a big plus for the Cubs, the only worry is the number of innings.
  15. Cardinals will probably lose tonight, I don't see how Sonny Gray doesn't get jacked by the Dodgers. Good chance Brewers go down as well, Padres are up, Vasquez is out, advantage Padres.
  16. I really like tomorrow' match up for the Cubs, they'll get to the Tigers starter for some runs probably, quite a few.
  17. At least Ben Brown was effective, showing his potential. And, while I believe the Tigers are good there's no one scary in their lineup, on a given day, it can be held in check.
  18. Cubs will take one of, if not, both of the remaining games. No more Skubal-like starting pitching to face and the Cubs have the best player who appears to be heating up.
  19. With PCA running you always put the pressure on the opposition to execute. PCA should have ran the stop sign.
  20. No, if that pitch is a just a little lower that's an out. I'm certain Brown missed his spot.
  21. Just keep the Cubs in the game Ben, they'll get to Tigers bullpen.
  22. Skubal not withstanding, I think people are forgetting the Cubs have the best hitter on the field tonight and in the series - Kyle Tucker.
  23. Probably won't get this one tonight, didn't expect to, I really like the Cubs chances on Saturday and Sunday.
  24. Brown' got the stuff, biggest issue is location, when he's dialed in, hitting his spots, he's as effective as anyone.
  25. If that third pitch is a strike so were the first two.
