  1. The Dodgers continuance with Betts at SS is one thing I don't understand. He's not a reliable glove out there and the Dodgers' defense isn't exactly stellar. Put him back where he belongs, in the outfield, and bench Conforto.
  2. I doubt it, it's annoying as hell but, even a broken clock is correct twice a day. Vaughn is really not good, his best season - 2023 - resulted in 1.1 WAR with an OPS+ of 102.
  3. For me it would be Cabrera + Merrill Kelly + Eugenio Suárez and, I believe, this could happen without involvement of Cassie or Wiggins. It may take all of Alcantara, Triantos, Long, a couple of arms, etc., I'm okay with that being the price.
  4. I watched most of the game, Woodruff did look good but, a couple of things, first, despite lately playing well, the Marlins are a legitimately terrible offensive team. Team OPS+ of 94, with 5 guys in their lineup below 100, Second, Woodruff appears to have lost some velocity, don't think his stuff is as electric as it once was and will quite probably never be again, for him, the Marlins we're an almost perfect first start.
  5. Besides, of course, winning I thought Wicks looked good and that was the best thing from tonight's game.
  6. Well, at least the Phillies won, nice they beat other NL Central teams besides the Cubs.
  7. Pretty safe to say the Cubs are going to score quite a few runs, too many guys in their lineup have crushed Fedde.
  8. The Horton start last week, did they even offer at any of his breaking/off speed stuff? Although, I don't know how the cheating works on the road, I was under the impression it was solely a home field "advantage".
  9. Cassie and Wiggins are the prospects I'd to see the Cubs keep, the rest of them - Alcantara, Long, Triantos, Ballesteros, even Ben Brown - have at them Jed. Use, them to get some pitching help.
  10. Brewers lost, Cubs will have a good chance to pick up a game on them tomorrow. Marlins have been playing well, have Cabrera going tomorrow, Brewers have Woodruff. I don't think it'll be 2023 Woodruff out there for the Brewers.
  11. The Cardinals - no - their starters are soft, rarely miss bats, just don't see them able to maintain more than a .500 team. The Brewers will probably hang in until the Cubs make some moves. I still feel, after Jed bolsters up the staff, the Cubs are going to bury the rest of the NL Central.
  12. Boyd will be good tomorrow and the Cubs will win the series. Doesn't matter who the Cardinals' starter is, the only effective one vs. the Cubs pitched today. I see its Fedde they'll crush him.
  13. What's even better is last week the Cardinals played HR (4) derby with the Cubs. Well, the Cubs played HR (8) derby with the Cardinals and did it twice as good.
  14. I think a change of scenery will make a big difference. If the Marlins are willing to move him at low cost I'd love for the Cubs to take a chance.
  15. They did tie the game, Otto Lopez with a 2 run HR - good to see these average type players do damage to someone besides the Cubs. Alcantara has had a good deal of bad luck, he's made some good pitches.
  16. Brewers get 3 in the most Brewers way possible, bloop single (PCA might have caught it), two run GB single that hits off Alcantara.
  17. Marlins have been playing well of late, believe they have a real good chance tonight.
  18. Suarez/Kelly will also work towards the Cubs putting the NL Central in their rear view mirror.
  19. If Jed could add, say a Lugo and Cabrera/Acantara + RP, at the deadline, I believe the Cubs will bury the NL Central. You can feel it coming.
  20. Shaw with his first HR at Wrigley? Have a feeling it's coming at some point this series.
  21. Shaw will get it going this series, he's close, was encouraged by the good swing and contact he put on a 100 mph FB last night. Along with PCA, it's been a bit, think he'll get into a few this series.
  22. Thanks, kind of cool to hear an Australian accent talking baseball.
  23. Watching Royals/Mariners, Lugo doing well 6IP, 1HR, 2BB, 6K's, wouldn't mind if he's one Jed's deals. Although, I don't agree he'd cost more than a lottery ticket, he's 35 and essentially a rental (player option for 26). If India was part of the deal that would command more, maybe, Alcantara and another fringe prospect. By the way, is the Mariners color guy from Australia? Anyone know?
  24. He was great tonight, bounced back from the last start, didn't miss location much, if at all.
  25. Something big is on the horizon for Shaw, it's coming. And, seriously, how the horsefeathers is Flexen 5-0?
