  1. I know Wood has had some struggles but, I believe as the season progresses he's going to improve, eventually to the point of being automatic.
  2. Well, the Rockies scored two on a bs play so, I guess that evens it out.
  3. Probably another start or two. When he comes up, I expect Gallagher to go down. I hope not, Gallagher' shown enough to warrant a spot, Marquis needs to go.
  4. I believe Hill' going to get a start soon, if he does well, will he get another start in Iowa or take Marquis' next start?
  5. Does Marquis EVER get ahead of a hitter?
  6. Sure would be a refreshing change if Marquis pitches ahead in the count tonight, break that season long pattern of starting off every hitter off 2-0, what'd say Jason?
  7. Is it just me or have Dodgers specialized in the crap single the last 3 years in Wrigley?
  8. That is a debatable point on if it actually does give the Cubs the best chance to win. It's almost certainly not an easy enough decision either way to call it a dis-service if they decide to do it the other way. Because of his bad wheels we've seen him whiff on pop flies (in St. Louis) that, Reed Johnson, for example would have caught. Granted it wasn't in the bottom of the ninth, but, its going to happen again and with the Cubs luck, its going to cost them the game.
  9. Using a defensive replacement for Soriano gives the Cubs the best chance to win, not doing so is a dis-service to Cubs and their fans.
  10. Anyone else think Paxson' going to find a way to screw this one up? He'll either trade the pick away or draft Beasley or someone else over Rose?
  11. Apparently, it does happen to other teams the Astros held to 1 thru 6 by the craptacular Adam Eaton.
  12. I must admit I had a profanity laced fit when I got to the game (parents called after the 2nd) to find the Cubs trailing. But, looking at the rest of the teams in the division there isn't a team as good or complete as the Cubs, they are clearly the best team. And its not that close, despite what the Cardinals and Astros have done recently there's no way they'll maintain that pace. I fully expect the Cubs to win the NL Central by 8+ games (and yes, they'll start beating all crap pitchers, all the Loopers, Wellemeyers, Chacons, etc.)
  13. Just for sh**s and giggles I'd like to see Soriano not swing the bat leading off the first, I suspect he'd walk on 4-6 pitches. I'm pretty certain I know what Chacon' approach to Soriano will be - slider low and away, followed by another, and another, and another...
  14. Owned by an average pitcher' average pitcher, throwing every pitch in same location for every hitter - away, away. The only time he came in was the mistake to Ramirez, he doesn't even come in for show.
  15. Just saw the replay of Ludwick' HR, talk about cheap, that's the very definition of cheap then again, that's the Cardinal' MO smoke and mirrors.
  16. Ramirez and Lee are what? A combined 0-16? I can't believe thats going to continue, one or both of them is going to break out tomorrow, Cubs will score 6+ runs and win.
  17. I just love it when the oppositions pull catches out their asses like Nady has today.
  18. Given that Maddux has tough time holding runners close that may not be bad.
  19. I'd make a deal with the devil to see the Cubs win a WS in my lifetime.
  20. As I understand it he's cleared waivers therefore, no team has put in a claim meaning all Hendry has to offer is the league minimum.
  21. I'm trying to stay positive, if Pie' not going to play everyday with the Cubs, he might as well play everyday with the Iowa Cubs - work on pitch selection. The worst case scenario - Edmonds craps the bed, he's gone, Pie back up, the best case - the Cubs get a hot few months out of Edmonds making the lineup that more formidable. I don't agree with the signing either, I would have had Pie in the lineup everyday from day one but, that's not going to happen and useless to lament it.
  22. Indeed. He'd be a terrible pick up at this point in his career. I hope this is more speculation than sourced material. Where's Bruce Miles? I fear it's much more likely that Edmonds will be our Jason Kendall v2.0 as opposed to mere speculation. Hopefully there are similar results in a prospect pushing him out of the picture later in the year. I believe this may the case as well, at least Pie will get regular playing time at Iowa, he can work on lying off the eye high fastballs and in-the-dirt breaking balls. And when Edmonds inevitably craps out, Pie will ready to take over.
