  1. And miss re-runs America' Funniest Home Videos? That's crazy talk...
  2. Were we the only ones who knew that if Jones didn't swing the bat at all Pinto would have walked him? Does Lou have or know what a take sign is?
  3. you say this as if the zone changes pitch to pitch as opposed to the way it actually changes, half inning to half inning. You're right, I over exaggerated, it does change half inning to half inning.
  4. Can we at least assume foul balls are going to be called foul and the strike zone is not going to change from pitch to pitch?
  5. Seriously, is there a good brewery in Milwaukee or Wisconsin for that matter? I've had Lienies' Brews, the Creamy Dark Lager is decent.
  6. Boy, am I glad the Brewers pulled a Cubs tonight, Kelly Stinnet drawing a bases loaded walk to beat you? That's Cubs like all the way...
  7. I know its a crap shoot with relievers but, trading a very successful set up man - Marmol and prospect who still may pan out - Pie (Cedeno' a throw-in). For a SS on the downside of his career and SP coming off elbow surgery?
  8. Losing to Willis is understandable however, there's no reason the Cubs shouldn't pound Barone tonight. He's had at best, limited success in the minors, the Cubs will get this one (tonight, I hope).
  9. If future Yankee Slugger Prince Fielder pulls a hammy in the first inning of tonights game, I dare you not to celbrate just a little bit. You have to be able to run to do that.
  10. Almost all the fans this final week will be Cub fans. Won't be Wrigley, but it will be "Wrigley South" Plus, I think we need to remember the Marlins have the worst home record in the majors. It's not like they've had a home field advantage at all this year. There's no logical reason the Cubs should blow this thing. None. Only one thing will do that now: looking over our shoulder, worrying about a team that is desperate for us to worry about them when we don't need to. That's the only thing that will stop us. Essentially, ourselves. I know its almost impossible to gauge a teams MO from the way they look but, if their approach to the last three games is any indication. I believe the Cubs have stopped caring a rodent' behind about whether the Brewers are winning or not. They know its there to grab and nothing can keep them from it - Len mentioned that the Pirates could see it in Cubs. Look what they did to Gorzelany - he had a snowball' chance in hell of winning - I believe the they're going to knock the snot of Florida. Sure, the Brewers losing would ease my mind but, I don't think its going to matter.
  11. I believe the Cubs have a real good chance at winning two of three (not so sure about Tracshel on Thursday), now, if Cards could somehow just get one from the Brewers...
  12. The Brewer fans can piss and moan about bad luck, calls, etc. but, the simple fact is they went 32-49 on the road. Playoff teams, good teams usually manage to win 40-50 games on the road.
  13. Thats' what Len and Bob said, right forearm cramps. Many of us thought the Pirates had no chance this weekend, LHP or not, I'm glad we right!
  14. When it came down to the bullpens I knew the Cubs were going to win, the biggest difference maker between the Cubs and Brewers hasn't been luck. Its been pitching - there's nothing lucky about good pitching.
  15. There's been a lot discussion about the Reds and the end of 2004 but, what of the Pirates? If I recall correctly, 2003 - didn't the Cubs clinch the division by sweeping the Pirates in a DH? What about 1984? I believed the Cubs clinched in Pittsburgh, beating the Pirates 4-2 - what I'm getting at, is quite a few good things have happened vs Pirates when there have been playoff implications.
  16. Maybe, its all the coffee I've had this morning talking but, I believe the Cubs are going to knock the snot out of the Bucos this weekend.
  17. Sign me as one who has grown tried of seeing the opposition make their defensive plays of the year vs the Cubs.
  18. I'm taking comfort in the fact that the not so good Brewer pitching is going to be facing a really good lineup. No more three (Pence, Lee and Berkman) hitters and a bunch of crap, it'll probably come down to the bullpens.
  19. yea, cuz we hit soo well against JOEL FREAKIN PENEIRO for 4+ innings.... Had that piece of crap on the ropes but, in typical Cubs fashion, they went into their no score mode for the remainder of the game. By the way is Sean Marshall ever going to figure he's got a better chance pitching ahead in the count? His long layoff notwithstanding, he better work on throwing strikes in the offseason or he won't be long for this league.
  20. Pretty pathetic what LaRussa has had to resort to, can't say I'm not throughly enjoying it.
  21. Goodbye and good riddance Craig Biggio!!!!!!
  22. And yet, they've had the thrill of two WS, it's unbelievably unfair.
  23. The Cards lineup sans Pujols might be one of the worst since the days of Baylor...
  24. Pretty entertaining Ron and Pat's call, listened to the Houston call as well. They were lamenting the Astros lack of clutch hitting, when it comes to the Cubs they must be watching a different game - clutch hitting is all they've done vs the Cubs in Houston.
  25. Didn't numb nuts pull one out of his ass vs Cubs?! Of course, against the Brewers he suddenly can't catch the ball!!!!
