  1. And of course, giving up a Grand Slam to Ryan Ludwick...
  2. Post of the day. Gotta win three of four. Totally agree. How can they be surging with that staff? It's the Cardinals, they could be surging with staff of Sidney Ponson, Shawn Estes and Micah Bowie. Sure does help to have that magic pixie dust up your ass.
  3. Jason Marquis really, really, really SUCKS!
  4. Watch the Brewers will make the playoffs and Braun will go dead cold as the Brewers get swept.
  5. Numnuts Lidge is unhittable vs the Cubs yet, can't pitch a scoreless inning vs the Brewers.
  6. I agree, but I hate when Caroll, or Gary Bennett hit huge homers against us. Freaking minor leaguers. What really burns me is the balls DeRosa and Jones hit were hit much harder than the crap.
  7. Its the Cubs hence, I'm expecting the worst - Ramirez done for the season - and hoping for the best.
  8. The Cubs seemingly suffer more injuries than an NFL team, unbelievable.
  9. I don't believe the budget constraints argument holds water, to the billionaire or billionaires who are going to purchase the Cubs a few extra million is a drop in the bucket. Its convenient, sounds nice but, rings hollow, I believe its more Hendry' inability to put together a solid team in first place. And after the first month or so of the season his not observing the Cubs were still a bat short.
  10. You're trying to use last night's game as an example that Jones cannot hit? The one he went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk? OK wrong example, basically there's no reason to start him CF over Pie, Pie may not hit better but, he's the superior defensive player and probably, base runner - those facts alone are reason enough to permanently remove Jones from CF.
  11. By the way Lou the Cubs are 32-16 when Pie plays, give him a shot.
  12. Please Lou, no more Jones, the man cannot hit, last night somewhere in the mid-innings Oswalt hung a breaking pitch over the middle of the plate. In other words, he put on tee and all Jones could do with it was pop out to SS, if that isn't vivid proof that Jones can no longer hit, I don't what is.
  13. Hey look we're halfway there already. Saw the call up in transactions,. thanks.
  14. Just wrote something about installing Pie as the everyday CF in today' Game Thread hopefully, it'll happen tonight. He may not out hit Jones/Pagan but, he's the superior defensive player that alone will help.
  15. In order to enhance the Cubs chances of making the playoffs, I believe Felix Pie must be the everyday CF. Its not because I'm assuming he'll out hit Jones but, its because of the facts that he's the superior defensive player and base runner. In no way shape or form will Jones offer anything helpful at least, with Pie, there's a good chance he'll keep a run or two from scoring. Call him up and put him lineup tonight!!!!!
  16. Well, I did get the answer to - What'll happen first a Cub hitting a HR or a Cub catcher throwing out a baserunner? So, another question - What'll happen first tonight Derek Lee swinging the bat or a Cub catcher throwing out a baserunner?
  17. Maybe something good will come of this such as Jones sitting for a while.
  18. I know its bad but, I was hoping, that as long as he's going to walk Lee, he'd bean him.
  19. What's the over-under on Dempster BB's this inning?
  20. hendry's out of ready-made excuses. the new ownership won't care why he's lost so often, just that he has. the absentee owners of the cubs are about to sell the team to people looking to make an impression on the fans of the cubs. Hendry' history after this season.
  21. I believe playing the infield in was a mistake, probably would have been 2-1, two outs before Loretta' at bat.
  22. Might as well be 301, he could be lobby it underhanded, still wouldn't make a difference.
  23. Send down a struggling/poor lefty reliever - check Call up lefty reliever (Pignatiello) who has been tough on RHB and LHB in the hitting friendly PCL - uhhhh no Instead, call up righty starter and put him in the pen - check?!
  24. It depends what the Reds will demand for Dunn. They may ask for Gallagher knowing we are desperate. Done, where does Hendry sign?
  25. Its Hendry were talking about here so: 1. Smartest option who have the largest impact - Dunn 2. Poorest option who'll have no impact whatsoever (unless the Phillies are back on schedule) - Conine Given these options I believe its pretty clear who's going to end up as a Cub.
