Does Cuas have an options left? If he does, I'm thinking he's going to be moved to Iowa soon, question is who do they call up?

UConn was able to concentrate on the supporting cast, too much size for Loyer and Smith plus working off the dribble to get open 3's or to the hoop is not their game.

Felt the same way after Illinois-UConn, both the Illini and Boilers are better they showed in their games.

Hell yeah, Cubs take two of three from the Dodgers, Cubs looked fairly good is winning this series. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

There's one thing unequivocally true Cubs middle defense >>> Dodgers middle defense, Betts is great and all but, just throwing him out there at SS or 2B could come back to bite them in the ass.

Thanks, I did fix my post. Funny thing I did look up his splits assuming he was facing LHP as a RHB of course, did not bother to check if he was actual switch hitter.

Think it's contributing to the injuries? I remember Fergie Jenkins saying he'd throw 100 pitches before his starts and didn't agree with the current load management philosophy.

Ohtani is still pretty effective vs. LHP, though not as menacing as is vs. RHP. Comparing lineups would one take the Braves or Dodgers? Think I'd take the Braves, Dodgers are top heavy, whereas the Braves have a little more balance to the lineup.

Cubs won, screw Ohtani, hope we get to see Little make him look human.

Swanson smoked that 98 mph FB, 106 mph exit velocity, only thing that kept it from going 420+ ft was the wind.

About the Cubs pitcher I'd feel good about getting Ohtani out is Little. Really, don't think Ohtani would have much of a chance against Little.

Miller, from Elk Grove, was drafted 29th in 2020, Cubs took Howard at 16 that year. Think there's a better than average chance Howard never makes it and is out of baseball within the next five years. Do the Dodgers EVER horsefeathers up a draft?

When discussing his options a #9 Poles mentioned WR as a position they're looking to fill. Believe it was among the first things he said, don't know if it means anything however, I believe if Harrison Jr., Nabers or Odunze is there the Bears will keep the pick and take one of those three. If those three are gone at #9, I believe Poles will look to trade down and go DE and WR. Of course, given the big three at WR are gone, it would not make much sense for Buffalo to trade up looking for a WR. Unless they have someone like Thomas in the same group as those three.

Agree completely, I guess some credit could be given to UConn, it was more on them though. We've seen this team move the ball regardless of who their facing hell, saw excellent ball movement against Iowa State.

Saw that, was watching the game, announcers mentioned something maybe Nazar might be helpful to certain someone in Chicago.

I wish the Illini could play them again, much of what happened last night was a one-shot. They probably would not win but, the Illini are also much better than last night' showing. Shannon wouldn't have such a terrible game, they'd hit far more of the open 3's.

Going after the big guy to get him foul trouble was a good plan, he fouled on several occasions, the officials were not going to call them. So, they should have taken the open 3's, passed up quite a few good looks, should have been up at halftime. Well, I think Underwood will learn, they'll more elite eight appearances he'll get to the final four one of these times. I guess the question is will Purdue be able to compete with UConn. Boilers will be facing a team with a big man who can more than hold his own with Edey and who, like Edey, appears the officials have swallowed their whistles for. It'll come down to the guards, which I still think are the Boilers kryptonite.

I wish the Illini were facing Houston, Alabama or Clemson, fairly confident they could beat any of those teams, instead of this monumental task of facing UConn. Oh well, as been said, it's house money from here on out, Underwood finally got the monkey off his back. Seems like once a coach overcomes the getting out of first weekend hurdle tournament success continues.

Just curious Iowa State drew a number of fouls while trying to set screens. To anyone familar with the Cyclones is this common? Through my Illini colored glasses it appeared to me that Iowa State was moving on those screens, sticking their hips trying to hinder the defensive player' as he tried to get around them. Still to Iowa State' credit I thought they played pretty good positional defense, far less grab and hold than Houston.

Sometimes, Underwood is criticized for being out coached, he deserves some credit for yesterday. It was obvious Underwood and staff had done their film work in they way the Illini broke Iowa State' press, reversed the ball and got open looks at threes. Having Hawkins in the middle as the relief valve was prefect, Iowa State even resorted to playing a zone on a few possessions, that's almost a concession their part. Also Illini' height really bothered Iowa State, it's something they couldn't defend.

It's gravy from here, all the pressure is on UConn, who knows maybe they'll have bad game and the Illini will steal one.

No question the Illini were better and are better than Iowa State, had they shot their free throws at average the game wouldn't have been as close. Don't know if they'll beat UConn but, I do know UConn would have obliterated Iowa State.
