  1. Also, that Lions LB - 34 - Anzalone was literally headhunting on every Fields' scramble or designed run. He was targeting often times, right in front of the officials and not a thing was flagged, I don't know why.
  2. Posted in the Lions thread about seeing if Fields learned anything from the last game against the Vikings. I'm certain they're going to come after him with reckless abandon, if Fields can be remotely competent at recognizing the blitz. He should be able to easily exploit the holes the Vikings are going leave and have a big day.
  3. Thought the OL played well, if they can remain intact they'll improve. It'll be interesting to see if Fields learned anything from the last game against the Vikings. I'm certain the Vikings, assuming Fields doesn't know how or can't beat a blitz, will come with all sorts of blitzes. Blitzes that'll leave the field wide open, daring the Bears to take advantage.
  4. Most of the blame is the prior front office, Pace drafted essentially the same QB twice. I think the current front office and coaching staff had a pretty good idea of Fields' flaws, yet, they chose to give it shot and roll the dice with him. Moreover, I believe Poles was not enamored enough of any this years' QB's to pick one over Fields. Next year is a different story, if they're in a draft position to get Maye, Fields is gone.
  5. Play okay to good vs. Detroit and Cleveland, tear it up against the remaining opponents.
  6. If Fields somehow manages to ball out these remaining games does anyone think Poles might be able to get a 2nd rounder for him?
  7. If that's true then, he's as dumb as Mitch perhaps, more so, all you've got to do is count and it's not even to 10. 1,2,3,4,5 vs 1,2,3,4,5,6 how the horsefeathers is this soo puzzling?
  8. As stated earlier he's 100% paralyzed by the fear of doing something wrong. If you put the above film in front of Fields I firmly believe he'd instantly recognize where the blitz is coming from. And either check-down or, on the option, he'd fake the pitch, keep and go to the right.
  9. Given the choice I think Poles is looking at Maye over Williams. If picking later I believe it's McCarthy, Nix, or Penix.
  10. Yet, they won, most definitely in spite of Bielema.
  11. Herbstreit kept stressing Young' supporting cast, I agree, if you've got the goods. Then the supporting cast doesn't have to be top notch, think all that's really necessary is a decent enough OL to keep the rush off. Which, by the way, the Bears have.
  12. With Fields it's one step forward, two steps back.
  13. Strange as it sounds I'm somewhat hopeful that Poles will be able to draft an NFL caliber QB. I think Bagent offers a little proof Poles knows what to look for in a QB, yes, there's arm strength issues. But, there's evidence of Bagent being able to read progressions, call the proper check-down and get the ball out. In 2024 Poles will be position to get a QB who has the arm to go along with the other skills. Pace basically drafted the same QB twice, sure, Justin is the better athlete and smarter than Mitch but, they both have similar flaws.
  14. Is Eberflus still the coach? If he remains I do not see how that is possible, yesterday, playing an awful Saints team, 5 TO's, still had a chance to win. Yet, Eberflus and Getsy masterfully coached them to a loss, with Fields coming back I don't see how it's going to improve. With Fields you can say goodbye to the check-downs/quick reads and hello to more sacks with potentially more TO's. The only way it's going to change is if Fields hits the horsefeathers it button, stops thinking, trusts what he sees, keeps his head up and pulls the trigger. I firmly believe he knows the X's and O's, when to check-down, where the hot read is, etc., somewhere between the mind and the physical execution is a disconnect.
  15. That's what I was getting at, there's excellent chance they don't score 17 points with Fields. How many unnecessary sacks would he have taken today? I'd say at least 5.
  16. What's more depressing is the knowledge that the results would have probably been worse if Fields was the QB.
  17. Poles would earn some of my respect if he told Velus Jones don't bother and left him on Bourbon Street.
  18. If we there was a way to translate some of what Bagent has to Fields we'd have something.
  19. The whole of the Big Ten West is the same team - meddling to poor - no chance whatsoever in the Championship game.
  20. Neither am I, on the whole, Bagent gives me a small ray of hope that should Poles be given a chance to draft a QB. The QB won't have major processing issues or a super slow release, Poles just may know what to look for in an NFL QB. Regarding the Bears back stabbing, etc., Fields has anyone at the Score taken into consideration that Collingsworth is stupid horsefeathers hick who talks out of his ass?
  21. I think this Sweat trade only makes sense if Jaylon Johnson is remaining a Bear. Right? It's the only context that seems feasible.
  22. If this does happen it'll be someone young, fast and cheap, probably not a starter on his current team.
  23. Fields has to know its almost midnight on his Bears and perhaps, NFL career, I wonder if we'll see some changes in his play. At the very least he should not take so many sacks, if he doesn't see anything, throw the horsefeathers ball away. Don't just hoppity, hop, hop, holding on to the ball waiting to get sacked and injured/re-injured.
  24. Don't know if he took another snap after that, maybe, if we're lucky, it was his last play as a Bear. Poles cut his losses with Claypool, now it's time to do likewise with VJJ.
  25. Kenny Smith when asked if there's anything for Bulls fans to be excited about answered the Bulls have a lot of assets. That should tell us all we know about this Bulls team.
