  1. This is probably why the Big Ten, besides Purdue, isn't getting much love from the "experts", of course, JMU and Morehead St. are getting some. It'll be great when the Big Ten kicks the horsefeathers out of both of them. Everyone except Northwestern will survive the first game, if Northwestern wasn't so banged up they'd beat FAU as well.
  2. I believe the Badgers will smoke JMU, they're playing really well, they'll also give Duke a good game. If you believe the CBS crew, etc. sounds like the Badgers shouldn't even bother to show up, they've got no chance.
  3. Statistically it's not true, I don't what the horsefeathers the selection committee bases their choices upon.
  4. Just want to see them and Underwood get to the second horsefeathers weekend for once.
  5. Yes!!! The Ilini took Wisconsin' best shot, in fact Wisconsin played out their minds well, the difference is Shannon. He can take over a game, Badgers don't have any such player. Too bad for the CBS broadcasting crew they were rooting hard for Nebraska and Wisconsin.
  6. In the same vein Guerrier is an enigma, strings together games where he flashes NBA potential, followed by a string of games where he disappears and Underwood effectively benches him. If comes to play, the Illini are very tough to beat.
  7. This whole the Bears failed Justin is excuse making, Fields is 99.9% responsible for busting as a Bear. The Bears arguably improved his supporting cast in 2023 and his passer rating went down from previous season. That certainly was not the Bears failing him. The same problems Fields had as a Bear will show up as Steeler, then what's the narrative going to be? The Steelers failed him as well?
  8. The only player they'll bypass Williams for is Maye however, never going to happen, Williams will be a Bear. I'm going to go out on a limb and say he'll manage to be, at least, average which will be a big upgrade.
  9. A little but he's also terrible at a QB' main role - passing the ball - and, there's no getting around that, you can't coach his flaws out of him , etc., it'll always show.
  10. Finally, reverse psychology worked for the first time ever!!!
  11. Illini with their usual tournament poor play garbage, this game is over. Domask couldn't hit water if he fell out a boat.
  12. It'll be interesting to see how truly good Loyer and Smith are next season, so much of their offense is generated because of Edey' presence. Nevertheless, even with a possibly hobbled Smith, I think Purdue handles Wisconsin with relative ease today. Would love to see Wisconsin victory coupled with an Illini win vs. Nebraska, the Illini are a bad match-up for Wisconsin. Most likely its going to be Purdue-Illinois for the title and Purdue will probably, unfortunately win. Honestly, I don't get why teams let Edey get into their heads, you could see it yesterday in Walker, dear-in-the headlights, I'd take it to Edey. So what if he blocks your shot, if you keep going after him, you'll draw fouls - I think.
  13. Spartans have to start flopping, sure is working for Jones. Edey commits an offensive foul with his elbows nearly every time he has the the ball. And it's not because he's bigger or stronger than everyone, he's using the elbows to make room.
  14. Don't think the Texans are minding not picking #1 all that much.
  15. Funny how Mooney did the same thing last season.
  16. I think we could live with Caleb Williams throwing for 3800+ passing yards next season.
  17. I was optimistically thinking they could get a 2nd rounder for Fields, that was way off. Maybe end up releasing him.
  18. I'm not confident he'll even address WR at 9, Odunze or Nabers could both still be on the board and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he goes DL - Turner, Verse, Latu. Now, if trades down at 9 and goes DL and WR, I think that'll work.
  19. Poles ignorance or just plain stubbornness to attempt anything at WR is what has me upset. It's very clearly a position of need, there are some options - Osborn, Brown, Ridley - who would most definitely help to improve the team. What does he do? A RB and two DB's now maybe, they're low hanging fruit and they'll be a WR move but, it certainly doesn't appear that something is on the horizon.
  20. I believe that's the case as well. Think the Bears would ever consider a position change for Fields? Honestly, I think he'd do well at WR.
  21. Thomas or Coleman, given the combine results, would Mitchell be an extreme reach at 9?
  22. That never happened for Kofi, ever, and he was a national player of the candidate.
  23. I could definitely see a coach pulling a Lute Olson - whining/lobbying the media and officials about the lack of calls on Edey and his physicality - in the tournament on Purdue.
  24. I remember when he literally give Kofi a concussion with an elbow and nothing called, no review, nothing. Here's something interesting: Edey has 15 games this year of 10+ FT attempts, Kofi had 17 such games for his CAREER. Edey draws 9 fouls a game in Big Ten play, now granted he does take a lot hits, etc. from the opposition, Kofi got the horsefeathers beat out of him and still was never able to draw fouls at such a rate.
  25. Don't know why they chose to get away from that, they had them, then decide to double him giving up open threes as a result. Nevertheless, that's the formula that may take down Purdue in the tournament, let Edey get his and shut down the supporting cast.
