The old GB pitching staff plus great defense MO again? It may help you have winning record which may result in a playoff appearance but, more than likely we're looking at 83-87 wins not, terrible but, also not a serious WS contending type team. This run prevention approach is as tired as a good running game plus a strong defense is in the NFL. Of course, not surprised, never thought the Cubs were serious contenders for Ohtani, Yamamoto or Soto, knew, somehow, they'd end up this way.

This off season was and is about Chapman, Hoskins, Glasnow type moves, I don't know why so many twisted themselves in knots thinking Ohtani, Yamamoto or even, Soto, for that matter, were even the remotest possibilities for the Cubs. -

This Illini team is big, smallest player of their starting 5 is 6-6, the height and physicality showed last night and against Rutgers. Loved what Domask did last night, he did what Pickett did to the Illini three times last season.

How would actively trying to keep you're QB from success be rewarded? Doesn't QB success go hand-in-hand with winning? In fact, wouldn't Fields improving shine a positive light on Getsy?

If the Bears draft position remains the same what about the possibility of dealing 1OA to say, the Cardinals, swapping first rounders and getting more 2024/2025 picks. Then taking MHJ at 2 along with drafting Bo Nix at 4?

Raise you're hand if, while watching the game, you knew a Fields 4th quarter TO was imminent, sure things in life are death, taxes and a ball busting Fields 4th quarter TO. This time he though the defense and the Vikings incompetence gave him a chance at redemption.

More QB pressures from Dexter, cheap roughing the passer call -yet, amazingly nothing called on, at least, two head shots on Fields - still, nevertheless, I think Poles can find players. Which is why I'll be OK with him taking a QB, But, the finding a coach part, not so good for Poles, hopefully, Warren can help improve on this aspect.

They'll draft the same type - athletic but, suck at basketball. Pat Williams, Terry, Phillips all the same player, not a one of them can shoot or do anything basketball related well. -
Do not understand, the roster is improved however, in many ways Everloss has regressed, which is baffling. I think we're seeing Poles can find players - TJ Edwards is having a pro bowl season, Nate Davis has played well, his draft picks are coming around - By the way, Dexter with less snaps than Carter and, also, not surrounded by elite pass rushers. Zacch Pickens also showed in the last game along with Tyrique Stevenson and when, he comes back Terrell Smith, Braxton Jones. Now Poles needs to find coaches.

Slow in processing progressions, have trouble recognizing and beating blitzes, missing NFL open receivers.

Given he's never been able to take advantage of teams blitzing he probably will fail. The most frustrating aspect is I'm certain the Vikings are going to leave all kinds of openings that any kind of a competent NFL QB would torch.

Fields is a more athletic, smarter version of Trubisky otherwise, they're pretty closely aligned in where their games are flawed.

This game will be a big test, if isn't overwhelmed by the blitzes and instead exploits them and lights up the Vikings. Then, maybe, we have something good going.

As the play was in process and taking a look at the replay I was wondering how Fields could not have seen Wright getting beat. It had to be in his vision range, yet, he stands there, no attempt to move up in the pocket, nothing.

I'm fine with letting someone else pay Jaylon, he's very good, and it'll be a big loss. However, he's not as good as he thinks, look no further than last game, a top corner grabs that pick-six.

There's absolutely no empirical evidence Uberfail will improve with an improved roster. In fact there's evidence to the contrary, he has an improved roster this year and yet, they remain terrible. Other than some silliness about continuity or some other BS Bears policy there's no justification for keeping him.

Checking out some of the film analysis it's hard not to be a little encouraged by the OL's improved play. Nate Davis, when he plays, has actually been a successful Poles FA pickup. Adding a solid center plus one of Alt or Fashanu will make this OL amongst the best in the NFC North. If Fields is able deal with the blitzes, not be overwhelmed, they're going to gash the Vikings on Monday. I also do not think the Browns defense is going to completely dominate this OL, in fact, wouldn't be surprised if the Bears managed to do well in that game.

There's always the excellent, if not probable, chance that Fields plays well, Bears score plenty but, Eberflus and Getsy find a way to piss the game away late.

Fields is way to scared of doing something wrong to ever be that confident. I agree though at some point with Fields its got to be horsefeathers these schmucks I'm going for it.

Fields aside without question they've under performed, yes it's not a playoff caliber roster. But it's also not 3 - 8 bad, should be 5-6 or 6-5 around .500. The coaching or lack there of, is this team' biggest handicap.
