    Absolutely. Teams are going to get an idea what he’s looking for and make him an offer based on that. Multiple teams will meet his demands and then he’ll pick what he believes is the best fit for him. Each team might have different sweeteners, but the important part will be the same.

    What he is saying is all the offers are going to be more or less the same and it will be Ohtani choosing where he wants to go. I believe that too, for the most part. He might have a lower AAV but longer offer with one team. A higher AAV with opt outs from another and so on, but all of them will be similar. he might look at all of them and then say to the team he wants to go to, “give me this and we have a deal”. It probably won’t be all about the money, but the buy in just to talk will be ridiculous.

    I hate the Cardinals with a red hot passion, but Ozzie and Honus Wagner are considered to be the two best defensive SS ever. He belongs in the HOF. I remember watching him as a kid and not believing what I saw. And on astroturf.

    Love him as a prospect. Raisin seems to think it may take him a little longer to develop. I hope the Cubs give him that time. I know some people like him better as a trade target. The swing and miss is a big concern. If the Cubs make a big trade, he will likely be involved.

    I still don't see it from the Blue Jays perspective. I'd love to know which side the leak is coming from. If it's the Blue Jays who are leaking this, it could be a real sign they are looking to deal. If it's the Cubs side... someone is trying to sell tickets. It's very unusual for Jed's team to let this stuff leak out. Not so much for the operations team.

    Who replaced Tommy Boy with a look-alike who doesn't mind thinking big? I want to give that person a medal.

    If Yamamoto gets a 10-year $250 million contract he will be tied for 7th in terms of AAV in all of baseball for pitchers. And it will be the 2nd richest total contract ever signed for a pitcher. Using Cole's contract as a measuring stick is irresponsible as it is the largest contract ever signed in MLB history.

    Quite a dilemma. They currently playing without a defensive coordinator or a running backs coach because both were fired or resigned for undisclosed reasons. I'm going to have to give the nod to Trestman here.

    I did a Google search and the only thing I'm seeing is the Dodgers and they are also linked to Adamas. My question why would the Blue Jays be looking to get rid of him? It's highly unlikely he will come to the Cubs to play 3B.

    lol, athletes not wanting to play in California due to taxes. And then choosing to play in a high-tax state like PA or NY. They're not playing in the Bahamas. Makes as much sense as politicians in Alabama talking about why they landed a manufacturer.

    I want to believe that if they commit to Ohtani their past behavior is irrelevant, sort of. I do think Ohtani and the Cubs are going to get protection with out-clauses. It is very out of character for them to actually go through with signing him. They bid for him, but how serious a bid it was is not known. It's out of character for them based on their stated positions regarding building a team. I'm still very skeptical. If they make the commitment and sign him, I will keep my mouth shut about their commitment to winning.

    I mean he's going to get a contract in the range of $200M. If that's an indication of where our society is going related to all the stuff you think you are 10-dimensional chessing about, you are obviously wrong. Who cares what some random white dude thinks about it? The man is going to get paid.

    You do know that "Boomers" are all septuagenarians and octogenarians now? they are dying off by the thousands every day. It's on us Gen Xers now. And I'm very disappointed in us. Edit: I think you are batshit.
