What kind of year do you expect Pawelek to put up in '06, assuming he starts out in low-A Midwest League?

By year: what results beyond the numbers (though numbers are always interesting).

(curious because I'll probably see several Chiefs games next year)

Abuck, my apologies to Hill. But, what made him potentially special while he was struggling at Lansing and other lower levels of the minors was 2 plus pitches. Since he has gone from the pen to a starter, his FB has lost velocity and it isn't as heavy as it was before.

I also have Patterson much higher than anyone else. His 1st year in the minors, he showed more than I expected. I think his ceiling isn't as high as someone like Dopirak, but he has a much higher chance of becoming a regular in the bigs than anyone except Pie in the Cubs farm system.

No one shows love for my question, either.

I hope Pawelek can put up a Gallagher-like year.

Except, of course, with better stuff.

I expect a strong year out of Pawelek, and hope he won't tire like Gallagher did. I expect him to rack up both the Ks and BBs. I think Veal and he will make visits to Peoria well worth it.

Why don't you like Cedeno and Hill? And is there any particular reason you rate Pawelek so low?

It's not I don't like them, I have questions about their ceilings. I've watched Hill's FB go from a plus pitch out of the pen at Lansing to an avg. FB.

My ceiling for Cedeno is that of avg. middle infielder.

If I went more of the statistical route, I would've rated Hill and Cedeno higher.

As far as Pawelek, he has the stuff to be higher, but I couldn't discount what the 6 ahead of him were able to accomplish or what their ceilings were.

Murton is where he is at b/c he showed the power finally, which is what his game needed to become a top prospect.
