ESPNNews just reported that Young will turn pro after this year!!

The Downtown Athletic Club has just announced that Brady Quinn has been awarded the 2006 Heisman Trophy.

*pumps fists*

Gets rid of a Heisman AND a national title contender.

Pfft, it's a battle for second place after Chase Daniel.

Mo Drew disagrees.

So does AD.

DID THEY WIN A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN HIGH SCHOOL?

Game, set, match.

Wow, I totally forgot he existed (and UCLA played OU!). He'd be my #1 candidate for now, ahead of Quinn.

I forgot too. I agree, he has a very good chance.

How does Oklahoma look for next year?

Unless they have a QB a heck of a lot better than Rhett Bomar coming, or Bomar improves by leaps and bounds, Peterson is going to be eliminated from the race by default.

5-star LB/S Allen Bradford is down to USC and UCLA and he visits UCLA Friday. It'd be nice to have a 5-star kid pick UCLA over USC. Hasn't happened since Marcedes Lewis came to UCLA.

Are you guys really going to able to outbid USC for his services?

In case you're wondering what gifts players are getting from bowl games, Rivals.com has a nice list.

Northwestern vs. UCLA

Dec. 30, 2:00 p.m., CBS

Gift package:

• Sony PSP with Madden NFL 2006

• Silvertone watch

• Armor Gear Sports duffel bag

• Suede leather jacket

• Vitalis knit cap and hair dryer

Time to visit Spence and play some PSP (especially since he already has his own PSP)!

Well, his parents really want him to go to UCLA, so we obviously outbided USC in that department (Allen himself is supposedly leaning towards USC though :().

This is not what Texas needs right now.

Citing sources close to the investigation, News 8 Austin reported that the investigation stemmed from two incidents — one on Sept. 4 and the other on Dec. 10. Both incidents involve robbery by assault. According to sources, the victims told police they were beaten up and robbed by several players.

According to those sources, at least three of the players may be starters for the Longhorns.

I wouldnt blame you for missing it, since OU was out of the national picture after day one, but by the end of the season, Bomar was 100% better than he was at the start.

A lot of it has to do with, as a freshman, in 2004, he was essentially 4th on the depth chart, behind White, Grady and Thompson. That year, Thompson, even though he redshirted, was officially the backup. If White had gone down in a big game, Thompson's shirt would have been pulled, and he would have come in. So, Bomar got no snaps in 2004, and he had to split them in 2005. After he got some jitters out, and started getting all of the snaps in practice, he improved a ton.

2 of the players are Cedric Griffin and Ramonce Taylor, btw.

That's pretty outrageous. Funny how it's okay for some people to give these kids tons of expensive free stuff but wrong for others. I understand it's a perk of going to the game, but I still think it blurs the line a bit.

The LA Daily News is reporting Reggie Bush will turn pro. Pete will be meeting with his juniors next week and USC will probably have a group press conference like Lofa Totupu, Matt Leinart and Tom Malone had last year. From what I've heard, RB Bush, RB LenDale White and OT Winston Justice are definitely gone. S Darnell Bing is also likely to turn pro, but WR Steve Smith is unsure.
