Hey, I'm not real pleased with the mess this former owner left me.

And, I still need to understand all the rules. Why is Andy Pratt on my roster?

Basically, I need to get my major league roster down to 2300? My active roster? My entire roster?

Can I pick anyone up to be a keeper?

You're required to pick Andy Pratt as a keeper.

Your point total must be less than 2300 for those players that are non-exempt. A player gets three exemptions from when he starts playing. So a player who was called up this season would be exempt from the point total for this off-season and two more.

You can only have 10 keeper players and 10 minor leaguers. I am not sure about the rules about minor league status at the moment. No season over 200 AB's for a hitter and less than 10 starts, or 25 appearances, in a season for a pitcher I think.

You can not pick up any free agents at this time.

You do not have to keep Pratt (He was a gag pick up anyways), but you cannot pick up any new minor leaguers until the season starts.

Basically all you can do at this point is decide which players you wish to drop/keep for next year. The trading deadline has passed.

i don't know why the previous owner always had madson as a minor leaguer...he doesn't come close to qualifying. so i think you'll have to drop him...

My apologies if this is incorrect. But, here is where I'm confused.

F. Prospects will be cap-exempt for three years starting the year they first appear in a major league game.

This is copied from the Rules that are stickied above. I need confirmation before I actually drop him. I was also told by Poudre that he was exempt from counting towards the cap.

Are you just picking on the new guy or what? :D

are you talking about madson?

if so, he may be points exempt, i guess i didn't even think about it. it just threw me off since he was listed on the minor league roster where he's not eligible to be. sorry for confusing you. :D

so, his points don't count but he does count as one of your ten major league keepers.

btw, since I live in Denver, up to an ounce is now legal as well.

Heard about that. That's sweet.

Actually, its just symbolic as pot is still illegal in the state of Colorado.

I believe that makes me quite legal, since I only have about 5 ML keepers.

When are the winter meetings?
