Pretty ugly third quarter for the Bulls defense.

Have the Hawks gotten into double digit "and-one" fouls in their favor this half yet? Yikes.

I loved earlier in the game when the refs pulled out the rare "two awful calls against the Bulls at once" play by calling a block on Deng when he'd been standing there for like half an hour, and then following it up with a total BS goaltending call against Tyson on the continuation.

 

But the Bulls are gonna get this one and make it 4 in a row, despite the brilliance of Joe Johnson (40 pts).

 

Where was Sweets tonight? I didn't see him play once.

i think that's 3 games in a row where he has received no playing time. He's definitely in the doghouse...I wish someone in the media had the guts to ask Skiles why Sweetney is not getting any playing time.

 

at least we won...let's hope for an over .500 road trip, doubtful, but I'd like to see it happen.

Well, Skiles needs to get Sweets out of the doghouse, and soon. I like Tyson when he's on his game (as he seems to be lately), but the Bulls won't get past the first round of the playoffs without another reliable big guy, and Sweets is that.

He did mention why Sweets isn't playing. Skiles said Sweets was moved out of the starting role to try different lineups and since then the Bulls have been winning. He also said that he moved down the depth chart and that he has to earn playing time. Sweets has been a huge dissapointment for us.

4 games without Sweets and we are on a current 4 game winning streak. Sweets might be great in short spurts but those don't last long. He has a tendency to foul a lot and it's costly. You can also question how good of shape the guy is in. He has been a dissapoinment.

Great effort tonight. Came back from 30 down. Still ended up losing by 4, but that showed how much fight this team has in it.

The Bulls always give my Mavericks a tough game, luckily the Mavs pulled this one out.

I was deeply impressed with the Bulls tonight, particularly how Kirk Hinrich led that amazing comeback and how Tyson Chandler got (almost) every big rebound, including giving the Bulls a whopping four chances to hit a three-pointer on that last possession. Even though this ended up an L, I think the team took a big step tonight. Let's not forget, this road trip is still very much a success if the Bulls split the next six games, and they're capable of winning up to five of the games (under no circumstances do I see the team beating Phoenix). I'm still confident about the Bulls' chances if they can get out of this road trip bloodied but unbowed.

Bulls only down 2 at half. If Ben, Sweets and Tyson can keep playing well (I love saying "if Tyson can keep playing well" and not "if Tyson can pick it up" :) ) then we can win this game, which would be a big step towards a successful road trip.

I turned it on at half time and I have to say that the 3rd quarter was one of the worst quarters of basketball I've seen a team play in a long time. I mean, what the heck are the Bulls doing out there? Gordon was draining shots, but even some of those were not good ideas. This team is very bad.
